What to drink now: Cherry cocktails

Dark, sweet and such a vibe. Gen Z and Millennials have infused cherries into their make-up, menus and mood boards this year. One thing’s for sure – tart will have your heart in 2025.

According to Pinterest Cherry red is the colour of 2025, so why not bring this bold, on-trend hue to your cocktail glass? “Cherry Coded” aesthetic is taking over, with searches for cherry-themed fashion, beauty, and home décor, and drinks skyrocketing.

From tropical escapes to indulgent classics, here are the best, cherry-inspired cocktails to offer something for every occasion:

Frozen Cherry Limeade – A zesty blend of BACARDÍ Lime Flavoured Rum, cherry syrup, and fresh lime juice, perfect for a refreshing burst of flavour.

Piña Colada – A tropical classic, combining BACARDÍ Rum, creamy coconut, pineapple, and a cherry to top.

Cherry & Chocolate Boulevardier – A rich and decadent mix of Dewar’s whiskey, vermouth, chocolate bitters and cherry juice for a sophisticated sip.

Angel’s Envy Manhattan – A timeless favourite elevated with ANGEL’s ENVY Bourbon, vermouth and finished with bitters.

 

CHERRY & CHOCOLATE BOULEVARDIER

  • 40ml Dewar’s 12 Year Scotch Whisky
  • 40ml Martini Bianco
  • 30ml cherry juice
  • 2 dashes chocolate bitters
  • Melted chocolate
  • Cherry and mint to garnish
  1. Add all ingredients to mixing glass and stir with ice until chilled.
  2. Add melted chocolate to base of glass and add cherry and mint as garnish.

 

PIÑA COLADA

  • 50 ML BACARDI Carta Blanca Rum
  • 35ml Fresh Coconut Water
  • 25ml Fresh Pineapple Juice
  • 3-4 Chunks of Fresh Pineapple
  • 2tsp Caster Sugar
  • Cherry and Pineapple Wedge as Garnish
  1. Add pineapple chunks and sugar to a shaker and gently crush.
  2. Pour in the BACARDÍ Carta Blanca Rum, pineapple juice and coconut water. Stir with a bar spoon.
  3. Shake vigorously.
  4. Serve over crushed ice in a hurricane or highball glass.
  5. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and a cherry.

 

MANHATTAN

  • 60ml ANGEL’S ENVY Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
  • 30ml Noilly Prat Sweet Vermouth
  • 2-3 dashes Angostura bitters to taste
  1. Add all ingredients into a mixing glass and fill with ice.
  2. Stir for 20-25 seconds to dilute.
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish with a cherry.

 

CHERRY LIMEADE

  • 50ml BACARDÍ Lime Flavoured Rum
  • 20ml Cherry Syrup
  • 20ml Lime Juice
  •  50ml Lemon-Lime soda
  • Ice
  • Lime Wedge and Fresh Cherry to Garnish
  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender.
  2. Blend until a frozen slushy consistency forms.
  3. Serve in a glass.
  4. Garnish with lime and a cherry.
