VELO has launched a brand-new digital content series titled Pocket Check, giving fans a glimpse into the personal items creatives carry with them every day — and the stories attached to them.
The campaign shines a spotlight on individuality, partnering with drum and bass DJ Charlie Tee and Lab54 founder to reveal the unexpected pocket essentials they keep close during DJ sets and creative work.
The series aims to celebrate originality and self-expression, with each featured guest unpacking the items that have become part of their personal routines and identities.
Charlie Tee reveals the story behind her famous ducks
Fresh from performing at Tomorrowland Winter, Charlie Tee shared one of the more unusual items fans regularly hand her during performances — miniature ducks.
According to Charlie, the trend started after she joked in a promotional festival video that fans could bring her “ducks instead of dubs.” Since then, audiences have embraced the idea, turning the small toys into a running gag during her sets.
She also revealed another essential item she never DJs without: orange earplugs. The bright colour choice reportedly came after years of repeatedly losing standard pairs while travelling and performing.
Speaking about the collaboration, Charlie Tee said the Pocket Check concept offers a more authentic look into her personality than social media often can.
“I feel like my pocket-check reveals more about my original self and daily life than my Instagram.”
Joe Gordon’s unusual go-to item
Meanwhile, Joe Gordon admitted his own “must-have” pocket item is considerably more unconventional — sausages.
The Lab54 founder’s inclusion highlights the playful tone of the campaign, which focuses on the quirky and unexpected details that make people unique.
