Lovehoney has unveiled its annual 2026 Sex Map, revealing the UK’s biggest sexual wellness hotspots based on purchases of sex toys and intimate wellbeing products. This year’s data places Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire at the top of the rankings, with residents buying more sexual wellness products per person than anywhere else in Britain.
The interactive report, now in its seventh year, analyses a full year’s worth of anonymous purchasing data to uncover fascinating regional trends, from the UK’s largest average dildo purchases to the country’s most popular fantasy products.
Waltham Cross Named the UK’s Sexiest Town
According to Lovehoney’s latest findings, Waltham Cross claims the title of the UK’s sexiest town after topping the per-capita sales rankings. The Hertfordshire town also ranked first for vibrator purchases and third for strap-on sales.
The full top five includes:
- Waltham Cross (Hertfordshire)
- Oakham (Rutland)
- Newport (Shropshire)
- Mold (Clwyd)
- Diss (Norfolk)
Elsewhere across the UK, Alloa leads Scotland, Mold tops Wales, while Enniskillen retains Northern Ireland’s crown after taking the overall title in 2025.
Smaller Towns Continue to Dominate
Lovehoney sex and relationship expert Annabelle Knight believes the results show that sexual wellness is thriving well beyond Britain’s biggest cities.
She explains that online shopping offers privacy, convenience and greater choice, allowing people in smaller communities to comfortably invest in their sexual wellbeing without needing to visit physical stores.
The findings suggest that interest in sexual wellness is widespread across the UK, regardless of location.
Newport Pagnell Buys the UK’s Largest Dildos
One of the report’s more unusual statistics reveals that Newport Pagnell in Buckinghamshire purchases the largest average dildo size in the UK at 8.72 inches.
The remaining top five are:
- Warlingham, Surrey – 8.20 inches
- Sidmouth, Devon – 8.19 inches
- Paisley, Renfrewshire – 8.18 inches
- Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire – 8.18 inches
Across the country, the average dildo purchased measured 7.07 inches, representing a 3% increase compared to last year’s figures.
Lovehoney estimates that, if every dildo sold across the UK during the past year were placed end-to-end, they would stretch 8,985 metres—roughly equivalent to the height of seven Ben Nevis mountains or 94 Big Ben towers.
Enfield Tops London’s Rankings
Within the capital, Enfield has been named London’s horniest borough after recording the highest number of sex toy purchases.
The rest of London’s top five includes:
- Croydon
- Kingston upon Thames
- Bexley
- Bromley
Londoners also appear to favour vibrators above all other products, followed by bondage accessories and butt plugs.
Interestingly, London’s average dildo purchase measured 6.98 inches, slightly below the national average.
Manchester Home to the UK’s Sexiest Postcode
Looking beyond towns and boroughs, Manchester takes the title for the UK’s sexiest postcode, overtaking East Central London, which held the honour in 2025.
The report also highlights several category winners from around the country.
Canterbury earned the “Otherworldly Award” for purchasing the highest number of fantasy-themed dildos, while Truro claimed the “Silky Secret Award” for buying the most lingerie.
Elsewhere:
- Worcester purchased the highest number of extra-large condoms.
- Guernsey led sales of female orgasm-enhancing products.
- Ipswich recorded the highest purchases of male sex toys.
