Forget traditional, boring summer jobs like flipping burgers or walking the neighbors dog. This summer, Opera GX is offering one lucky gamer the chance to get paid like a boss to simply play video games.

For this important role, the successful applicant will earn a one-time “payroll” of $5000, just for picking up their keyboard, playing games on the GX.games platform for one week, and sharing their favorites with the Opera GX team. A compilation video featuring their best game selections will then be created by the Opera GX team, and shared via its social media channels, helping to boost the winning applicants world-wide fame.
The Best Summer Job is open to applicants from many countries across the world (see terms and conditions for eligible countries), and the minimum age must be 18. Applicants won’t be asked for their CV, or to fill in an endless stream of blank boxes about why they are right for the role. If they are a true gamer, they are qualified to apply.
To apply, they’ll simply need to record a video of themselves playing any game of their choice on GX.games and explaining why they decide to pick that game. The video must then be shared on Twitter or TikTok with the hashtag #bestsummerjobever and tag @operaGXofficial before July 7th to participate. The successful applicant will be chosen by the Opera GX team and notified by the end of July.
