THE TROLL TO MAKE WORLD PREMIERE AT RAINDANCE FILM FESTIVAL 2026 AS BRIANNA LEE EARNS BEST PERFORMANCE NOMINATION!

Psychological horror-thriller The Troll is set to make its world premiere at the prestigious Raindance Film Festival on 20 June, marking a major milestone for the independent feature and its creator, Brianna Lee.

Selected as part of the Official Selection at the 34th Raindance Film Festival, the film arrives with added recognition as Lee has also been nominated for Best Performance in a Debut Feature, highlighting her dual role as both director and lead actor. The festival runs from 17–26 June in London and remains the UK’s largest independent film festival, renowned for showcasing emerging filmmaking talent.

A Dark Exploration of Online Obsession

The Troll delves into the darker side of internet culture and social media fame.

The story follows Killa B, a hugely successful TikTok superstar whose life revolves around the admiration of millions of followers. However, when a single vicious online comment strikes a nerve, she becomes consumed by finding the anonymous individual responsible.

What begins as a search for answers soon spirals into obsession. As Killa B tracks down the troll behind the screen, she infiltrates his personal life and gradually destabilises his family. The psychological thriller builds towards a tense confrontation that exposes the emotional cost of living under constant public scrutiny.

With themes of digital identity, online harassment and the pressures of influencer culture, The Troll taps into issues that feel increasingly relevant in today’s social-media-driven world.

Brianna Lee Leads an Ensemble Cast

Alongside directing the feature, Brianna Lee stars in the film’s central role. Lee is known for her work in The Professional and A Sea Cliff Story.

The cast also includes:

  • Katy Frame (Men in Black 3, What Now?)
  • Greg Saridakis
  • Alena Acker (And Just Like That, Law & Order)
  • Matthew Eyre (Slow Down)
  • Richard Mark Jordan (Tires, The Chair Company)
