Friday 6th June is a day that seafood lovers across the country can eagerly anticipate – National Fish and Chips Day. And there’s no better way to mark the occasion than at The Mayfair Chippy Knightsbridge, which is launching an impressive new Mayfair Chippy Challenge for one day only. The daring feast is not for the faint-hearted, but designed to test a hearty appetite and a love for classic British seafood to the limit!
The challenge presents a giant platter featuring 1.5kg of fish, 1kg of chips, a battered sausage, a regular sausage, two battered gherkins (affectionately known as “Wallys”), along with tartar sauce, mushy peas, and curry sauce, all of which participants will have 45 minutes to finish. Those who succeed will enjoy their feast on the house (regular price £85), receive a commemorative Mayfair Chippy Challenge T-shirt, and earn a place on the restaurant’s Wall of Fame – along with some serious bragging rights.
Since opening, The Mayfair Chippy has had no problem establishing itself as one of London’s top destinations for high-quality seafood and classic British fare, regularly attracting crowds of people willing to queue around the blocks for a seat. Known for its approachable atmosphere, the restaurant appeals to both loyal regulars and passing visitors alike, with events like the Chippy Challenge adding a fun, competitive spirit that reinforces The Mayfair Chippy as a key part of London’s food culture.
The Mayfair Chippy Challenge launches on National Fish and Chips Day at the Knightsbridge location, 138 Brompton Road, London SW3 1HY. Participants must be 18 or older and book at least 48 hours in advance. You can find out more details and make your reservation here.
