Walkers’ latest Do Us A Flavour competition has reached its final stage, with two bold new crisp flavours now battling it out for a permanent place on supermarket shelves.
The nation has spoken — and now there are just two flavours standing between a brand-new Walkers crisp and a permanent place in the Walkers family.
The iconic Do Us A Flavour competition has reached its final showdown, with Lydia Houghton’s Salt & Pepper Chicken going head-to-head with Becky Dibble’s Grilled Cheese & Chilli Jam.
The two finalists are now available nationwide, with the public effectively deciding the winner through their purchases. Whichever flavour sells the most by 30 November 2026 will earn a permanent spot on Walkers shelves.
For fans of Walkers, it means the latest addition to the nation’s crisp aisle could be decided by something as simple as picking up a bag.
From TikTok Ideas to the Supermarket Shelf
The latest edition of Do Us A Flavour has been around eight months in the making, with Walkers taking a distinctly social-first approach to finding the next big crisp flavour.
Thousands of members of the public submitted their flavour ideas through TikTok, with submissions initially narrowed down to a top 100 based on organic engagement.
Those entries were then assessed by Walkers’ experts alongside chef and self-proclaimed ‘Potato Queen’ Poppy O’Toole, before six finalists were selected to compete in a TikTok-first game series.
The shortlisted creators faced a series of challenges, including blind taste tests, cooking challenges and live pitches, ultimately leaving Salt & Pepper Chicken and Grilled Cheese & Chilli Jam as the final two.
Now, the competition has moved away from the screen and onto the shelves.
Meet the Finalists
Lydia Houghton’s Salt & Pepper Chicken
Representing the red corner is 54-year-old Lydia Houghton, a supply teacher from Malmesbury, Wiltshire.
Lydia’s flavour was inspired by her love of rich and spicy food, something she developed through travelling around Asia.
Her Salt & Pepper Chicken flavour is based on a much-loved Friday night tradition: ordering the same dish from her local takeaway every week.
The resulting crisp aims to recreate the combination of crispy chicken and the unmistakable salty, peppery kick that makes the takeaway classic so popular.
For Lydia, seeing her own creation transformed into a real Walkers flavour is already a dream come true.
“Walking into a shop and seeing a flavour I created sitting right there on the shelf is going to be an absolute mind-blower.”
But now she wants the public to take the final step and pick up a bag.
Becky Dibble’s Grilled Cheese & Chilli Jam
Taking on Lydia in the blue corner is 26-year-old Becky Dibble, a mum from Oswestry, Shropshire, who works in a local café.
Becky’s flavour takes inspiration from one of her favourite side dishes: golden halloumi bites served with sticky chilli jam.
The combination brings together savoury and sweet flavours with a little heat, with Becky hoping the unusual pairing can win over crisp fans across the UK.
After stepping outside her comfort zone to enter the competition, reaching the final has already been an achievement — but Becky now has her sights firmly set on victory.
“Handing control over to the public is equal parts terrifying and thrilling – I just hope people give it a chance and fall in love with it.”
Your Crisp Purchase Could Decide the Winner
Unlike a traditional public vote, this final will be decided by sales.
Every pack purchased counts towards the final result, meaning crisp fans can effectively cast their vote simply by choosing their favourite flavour.
The flavour that sells the most by 30 November 2026 will secure a permanent place in the Walkers range, joining established favourites including Cheese & Onion, Salt & Vinegar and Prawn Cocktail.
The winning creator could also receive up to £500,000 as a share of the sales of their flavour, subject to the competition’s terms and conditions.

Two Flavours, One Permanent Spot
Both Salt & Pepper Chicken and Grilled Cheese & Chilli Jam are now beginning to appear in shops across the UK.
The flavours are available in grab bags, six-packs and price-marked packs, giving shoppers plenty of opportunities to decide which contender deserves a permanent place on supermarket shelves.
Whether you’re backing Lydia’s salty, peppery chicken-inspired creation or Becky’s sweet, savoury and spicy halloumi-inspired combination, the final decision now rests with the nation’s crisp aisle.
After months of TikTok submissions, challenges and testing, the Walkers Do Us A Flavour final has reached its simplest — and tastiest — stage.
Pick your favourite, grab a bag and decide which flavour stays.
