Müller UK & Ireland and Myprotein officially launched “The NO RESTaurant” – London’s first dedicated post-workout connection hub. The new social hub for the restless opened its doors to sellout crowds in Covent Garden, reinforcing research that shows 74% of young adults are desperately seeking new ways to form genuine connections.
The two-day pop-up experience, running 6th-7th May 2025, brings to life the start of a new movement which is aiming to help take people from workout to real social connection, from Sweat to Spark, with neuroscience showing that the post-workout state is your brain’s chemistry creating the perfect conditions for social connection. The overwhelming appetite for authentic connection opportunities among younger generations has never been more evident, with all available tickets sold out ahead of the event.
“The resounding response to The NO RESTaurant proves what our research has been telling us – that young people are actively seeking alternatives to dating apps and traditional social venues. By creating a space designed around the neuroscience of post-workout connection, where people have the opportunity to take part in physical challenges then socialise with others, we’re not just launching a partnership – we’re sparking a movement that could change how an entire generation forms meaningful relationships.”
Vicky Morgan, Health Category Lead at Müller
The NO RESTaurant isn’t just for the restless – it represents a complete reimagining of how and where people connect. Unlike traditional restaurants or bars where connection often feels forced or awkward, this concept is designed to capitalise on the scientifically-backed “social connection window” that occurs after exercise when the brain is naturally primed for authentic social interaction.
“What most people don’t realise is that the post-workout glow isn’t just a feeling – it’s your brain chemistry creating perfect conditions for connection. Just 10 minutes of exercise significantly increases oxytocin – the ‘social connection hormone’ – which remains elevated for up to 30 minutes after finishing a workout. This, combined with a surge in endocannabinoids, creates a unique neurochemical window when we’re most receptive to forming genuine bonds.”
Dr. Jack Lewis
The concept of The NO RESTaurant is built around bridging the gap between Sweat and Spark through two specially designed zones. The Sweat Zone features collaborative games and activities designed to trigger the release of key neurochemicals that promote social bonding. And the Spark Zone offers conversation ice-breakers, compatibility games, and a dedicated connection lounge where attendees can form new friendships and relationships in an environment specifically optimised for authentic interaction.
Today’s launch also extends the partnership between Müller – the nation’s favourite dairy brand – and Myprotein – the UK’s leading sports nutrition brand, as they come together to launch this new concept and experience. Together, they’ve created a new range of high-protein yogurts and desserts, the perfect protein boost for the post-workout recovery window, the same period when connection chemistry naturally peaks.
The NO RESTaurant concept directly addresses changing social patterns among younger generations, who increasingly view fitness communities as natural social hubs. Research shows that 37% of Gen Z already view working out as a way to socialise, with 32% of Brits having attended fitness classes specifically to meet new people.
“The gym is the new bar. The run club is the new dating app. The HIIT class is the new dinner party,” Morgan added. “By transforming that missed opportunity when everyone heads their separate ways after a workout into a dedicated connection experience, we’re creating something that feels genuine, approachable, and relevant to how young people actually live and connect today. We hope this marks the beginning of a movement that encourages these generations to seize the post-workout connection opportunity, whether it’s at their local run club, at a fitness class or at the gym.”
The NO RESTaurant is open 6th-7th May at Icetank, 5 Grape St, London WC2H 8DW. While tickets for this event are completely sold out, those interested in future Sweat to Spark events can follow @Mülleruk_ire and @myprotein for upcoming announcements.
