London is the city of perpetual viral food trends, but few have generated the buzz that Sushi Pops has. The push-pop sushi concept at BOXPARK Shoreditch has quickly become one of the capital’s most talked-about openings, attracting queues, selling out daily, and accumulating hundreds of thousands of social media views – all driven by a concept that genuinely lives up to the hype.
Freshly made to order, the pops are perfect for life on the go, offering a quick lunch, easy pick-me-up, or novel way to satisfy a sushi craving without compromising on quality. The overseas-inspired concept certainly catches attention with its tube packaging and attached soy-filled straw, but it is the flavour, texture, the distinctly British twist on the flavour combinations that keep customers coming back for more.
Full of fan favourites, the menu is simple and impressive. The Scottish Salmon serves up salmon, avocado, samphire, cream cheese, and cucumber for a clean, fresh flavour profile, while the Chicken Katsu delivers comfort of the Japanese classic with added avocado, cucumber, and a rich katsu sauce.
To experience the ultimate British twist, the Yorkshire Beef layers miso beef brisket, tempura sweet potato, pickled rhubarb, and Henderson’s Relish into a combination that showcases one of the best takes on fusion cuisine the capital has to offer. There’s London Unagi, Devon Spicy Tuna, and even an option to build your own – with whacky combinations like Katsu Salmon and Beef with Prawn Tempura combos that have been known to have been ordered.
The business was founded by couple Emma and Nacho Grimaldi, who launched the concept after spotting the trend abroad and seeing its potential in the UK market. Drawing on backgrounds spanning hospitality, food science, and restaurant management, the pair have built a business that ticks the boxes of social-media appeal and operational expertise, underpinned by a concept that shows no signs of losing its appeal. It’s fun, unique, and truly delicious – and well worth the trip over to East for a taste.
Sushi Pops can be found at BOXPARK, 2-10 Bethnal Green Rd, London E1 6GY. You can view the whole menu and read more about the viral phenomenon right here.
