NIVEA and Vicky Pattison Call Time on Overpriced Skincare with New ‘Skin Savvy, Not Spenny’ Campaign

NIVEA is challenging the idea that great skincare has to come with a luxury price tag – and a 15-step ordeal, – launching its new ‘Skin Savvy, Not Spenny’ campaign alongside media personality Vicky Pattison. Shining a spotlight on the brand’s Daily Essentials range, the campaign champions ingredient-led skincare that truly delivers proven results, but without stretching your budget.

The campaign arrives alongside new research revealing just how much Britons are spending on products they don’t fully understand. A survey of 2,000 UK adults found the average person spends £238 a year on skincare (£358 for millennials) and owns around eight different products, yet 30% admit they are not confident explaining what those products actually do, while almost half are unsure about the ingredients they are applying to their skin. Suncream, face masks, and lip balms were also named among the products most likely to be bought and then forgotten at the back of the bathroom cabinet.

Despite the growing appetite for premium skincare, price does not always translate into better results. One in ten respondents said they still believe expensive products perform better, yet the same proportion admitted they had been left disappointed after paying more, while 35% said affordable alternatives had exceeded their expectations. Vicky Pattison, who fronts the campaign, says she once believed the highest price meant the best skincare, but after switching to NIVEA’s Daily Essentials range, found ingredient-led formulations could leave skin feeling just as hydrated, fresh, and healthy without the premium cost.

The Daily Essentials collection combines familiar skincare ingredients with accessible pricing across everyday routines. Highlights include NIVEA Soft (£2.00), the famous La Mer ‘dupe’ lightweight moisturiser enriched with vitamin E and 100% natural jojoba oil; NIVEA Lip Original Care (£2.65), formulated with ethically sourced shea butter and natural oils; and NIVEA Refreshing Face Wash Gel (£3.59), featuring Lotus Flower and Hydramine to cleanse while maintaining the skin’s natural moisture balance. The range also includes Double Effect Eye Make-Up Remover (£4.30), BB Tinted Day Cream SPF15 (£5.49), Refreshing Day Cream SPF30 (£6.40) with aloe vera and hyaluronic acid, and Skin Radiance Serum Infused Micellar Water (£8.49), combining vitamin C and E with a 5% serum complex for brighter-looking skin.

With more than 140 years of skincare expertise, NIVEA continues to focus on combining dermatological research with everyday affordability. The Daily Essentials range brings together recognised ingredients including hyaluronic acid, SPF protection, aloe vera, vitamin C, vitamin E, and jojoba oil in products designed to simplify daily skincare routines. Rather than encouraging increasingly complicated regimes, the campaign promotes choosing products based on ingredients and effectiveness instead of price alone – with Vicky Pattison at its helm to inspire people to make the switch.

The NIVEA Daily Essentials range starts from just £2.00, and is available from Boots, Superdrug, Tesco, and major retailers nationwide. Find out more about NIVEA and explore the full range of skincare products right here.
