Spring Lands at Slurp Thai with Fresh Burst of Southeast Asian Flavours

Slurp Thai, the Southeast Asian favourite in the heart of Spitalfields, is embracing the new season with a sensational new menu that showcases the best of Thai flavours. It celebrates vibrancy and boldness, spicing up classic dishes with fresh notes and creative twists, transporting hungry diners to the bustling streets of springtime Bangkok.

Co-founder and restaurateur Saiphin Moore (also the powerhouse behind Rosa’s Thai and Lao Café) has personally curated the new menu at Slurp Thai, drawing on her roots and culinary experience to select a collection of personal favourites that champion authentic Thai flavours and familiar combinations. Diners can look forward to street food staples, moreish snacks, and adventurous new creations that capture the spirit of Southeast Asia on every plate.

The Bang Tod Cod Collar is one of such highlights, serving up a shallow-fried cod collar seasoned with Thai herbs and served with a seafood dipping sauce. The Larb Gai, often called the king of small-plate salads, offers a zesty mix of minced chicken stir-fried with lime, fish sauce, fresh herbs and chilli. For a true hit of sweet, sour and spice, the Som Tum Thai (Green Papaya Salad) is a must-try, while comforting bowls of Pad See Ewe (thick flat noodles stir-fried in sweet soy sauce with beansprouts and white pepper) are available with chicken or mixed vegetables. For something bolder, adventurous diners can dive into the Dry Pad Prik Daeng Curry Eel, braised in a fiery red gaeng paste and finished with fragrant fried lime leaves.

Beyond the dining room, the Spitalfields hotspot conceals Dang’s, the lively basement hideaway serving up bespoke cocktails and moreish Thai small plates. Highlights from the bar menu include the Hat Yai Fried Chicken, a dish that might very well be the greatest of Slurp’s creations, offering a tender deep-fried thigh marinated in coriander, garlic and white pepper. The Zabb Chicken Wings are well worth a try, tossed in a signature spicy, salty coating that is as unique as it is addictive.

There’s always a good reason to visit Slurp Thai, with midweek offers making it even more tempting. Guests can enjoy two house cocktails for £20 from 17:00 to 18:30, take advantage of 15% off bottles of wine on Wine Wednesdays, and sip their way through a menu of Thai-inspired cocktails (with a spotlight on the Banana Hibiki – whisky, cacao run, and crème de banana), crisp sake, and ice-cold beers. The combination of delicious food, refreshing drinks, and immaculate ambiance makes Slurp Thai (and Dang’s) the perfect location for spring evenings with friends.

You can find Slurp Thai at 60–62 Commercial Street, London E1 6LT, just a stone’s throw from Spitalfields Market. Find out more and book your table here.
