Skylon Returns to Southbank with Spectacular Views and Elevated Comfort Dining

Skylon, the beloved dining destination on London’s Southbank, has reemerged with a sleek new look, an elevated menu, and the same breathtaking views that make it one of the city’s most iconic spots for dining and sight-spotting. This highly anticipated relaunch has merged elegance with a fresh approach to modern European cuisine, keeping Skylon at the forefront of must-visit lists for food lovers and city dwellers alike.

Almost hidden above London’s Royal Festival Hall, Skylon’s redesign blends heritage with contemporary luxury, with deep walnut wood, bronze mesh and rich red accents drawing in the elements of the venue’s history. The focal point comes in the form of the stunning new Grand Central Bar, wrapped in black porcelain and adding sophistication and glamour to the surroundings – the perfect setting for pre-theatre drinks, late night tipples, or martini-fuelled catch ups with a view.

In the kitchen, Head Chef Pavel has crafted a menu that reimagines classic comfort food with his refined touch. It is packed with familiar flavours with an additional ‘wow’ factor, with a menu highlight being the Railway Mutton Curry, which is served with fragrant pilau rice and cooling cucumber-mint yoghurt. Favourites also include the indulgent Black Truffle Linguine, and Skylon’s signature Shepherd’s Pie and Fish Pie.

The extra fresh ingredients are evidence throughout, particularly in the Dressed Cornish Crab starter, offering crab mousse, hand-picked white meat, sourdough, and lemon in a light yet satisfying precursor to the meal. And at Skylon, dessert shouldn’t be optional – the Yorkshire Rhubarb Trifle is not to be missed, with sweet tangy fruit topped with rich bourbon vanilla custard, while the Baked Alaska includes coconut, mango, and charred meringue for contrasting textures and temperatures in the perfect sharing dessert.

Beyond the à la carte experience, weekends at Skylon feature a Saturday brunch with live jazz and bottomless bubbles added on for just £29 per person, while Sunday lunch brings a quintessentially British experience with a top-tier Sunday Roast, served with all the trimmings and an unparalleled riverside view.

Skylon is located at Belvedere Rd, Royal Festival Hall, London SE1 8XX, and is now open for lunch, dinner, and drinks. View the menus, see what’s on, and book your table right here.
