SKY SPORTS TESTS SOME OF BRITAIN’S BEST ATHLETES

Ahead of the Solheim Cup and Ryder Cup, Sky Sports Golf has put some of Britain’s well-known athletes and golf influencers through the intense pressure of the first hole at the Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup in a comedy new video.

Presented by Ryder Cup-winning player and captain Paul McGinley, alongside Solheim Cup veteran and two-time winning captain Catriona Matthew, the challenge involved testing the skills and mental strength of the participants, under the pressure of Sky Sports commentators and pundits Tim Barter, Rich Beem, Iona Stephen, and Henni Koyack.

In this one-hole challenge, golf influencers Mia Baker and Seb Carmichael-Brown captained team Europe and team USA which include cricketers Ollie Robinson and Sam Billings, rugby star Dylan Hartley, footballers Ray Parlour and Tim Sherwood, along with golf influencer Chloe Gallacher.

Both Robinson and Billings, teammates from England, rose to the occasion, hitting impressive tee shots to both drive the 310 yard green. Robinson narrowly missed a 15-foot eagle putt after an incredible tee shot, while Billings came close to holing an eagle putt from the fringe. Former England rugby captain Hartley also delivered a powerful drive, giving himself an opportunity for an eagle.

Football rivals Parlour and Sherwood engaged in friendly banter about the upcoming North London derby while posting respectable pars, with team captain Mia Baker sending her drive just short of the green.

Unlike your typical celebrity golf day, for the first-time talent have been given the true Sky Sports experience with the first class commentary, analytics and tips from some of the best from some of the best and most highly respected voices in Golf. Observing athletes thrive and struggle, under the watchful eye of the Sky Sports Golf team made for compelling viewing, reinforcing the mental precision required for any elite sport.
