SEIKO PROSPEX EXPANDS ITS DIVING LEGACY WITH TWO PREMIUM DIVER’S WATCHES FOR SUMMER 2026!

Whether you’re an experienced diver, a watch collector or simply searching for a standout luxury gift this summer, Seiko Prospex has unveiled two exceptional timepieces that celebrate decades of innovation in professional dive watches.

Drawing inspiration from two of the brand’s most iconic designs, the new releases combine vintage styling with modern engineering, showcasing why Seiko remains one of the world’s most respected names in dive watches.

Seiko Prospex Marinemaster 1968 Diver’s Reinterpretation

Leading the collection is the Seiko Prospex Marinemaster 1968 Diver’s Reinterpretation 300m in High Contrast Black, a modern tribute to the groundbreaking 1968 diver’s watch that introduced the world’s first high-beat professional dive movement with 300 metres of water resistance.

The contemporary reinterpretation stays faithful to the original’s robust design while introducing upgraded materials and enhanced underwater legibility. A textured black dial sits beneath a dual-curved sapphire crystal, while Lumibrite hands and indexes ensure visibility in low-light diving conditions.

Powering the watch is Seiko’s premium 8L35 automatic calibre, hand-assembled at the renowned Shizukuishi Watch Studio in Japan’s Iwate Prefecture. The movement delivers an accuracy of +15/-10 seconds per day alongside a 50-hour power reserve, making it as dependable beneath the waves as it is on land.

Retailing at £2,580, the Marinemaster is available exclusively through the official Seiko Boutique.

Celebrating 145 Years of Seiko

The second release honours an important milestone for the Japanese watchmaker.

The Seiko 145th Anniversary Prospex Diver’s Watch 1965 Heritage Limited Edition commemorates 145 years since Kintaro Hattori founded Seiko as a clock and watch repair shop in Tokyo.

Inspired by the company’s original 1965 diver’s watch—the first diver’s watch produced in Japan—the limited edition features a refined silver dial accented with signature blue detailing that reflects Seiko’s anniversary branding.

Inside sits the in-house 6R55 automatic calibre, offering an impressive 72-hour power reserve and rated accuracy of -15/+25 seconds per day. With 300 metres of water resistance, it remains fully equipped for professional diving while maintaining a timeless everyday aesthetic.

Priced at £1,300, the anniversary edition is available to pre-order now through Seiko Boutique.

A Heritage Built Beneath the Surface

Seiko’s reputation in dive watches stretches back to 1965, when it introduced Japan’s first purpose-built diver’s watch. Since then, the brand has continually refined its professional diving technology, producing watches trusted by explorers, mountaineers and divers across the globe.

The Prospex collection—short for Professional Specifications—continues that legacy by blending reliability, durability and precision with distinctive Japanese craftsmanship. From the premium Marinemaster to the accessible anniversary edition, both watches demonstrate how Seiko continues to honour its past while embracing modern performance.

Where to Buy

Both watches are available through the official Seiko Boutique website.
