Set on the 12th floor of the DoubleTree just steps away from Tower of London, Savage Garden has long been one of the capital’s most coveted rooftop destinations. Other than an enviable cocktail list and a menu of delicious snacks to match, its terrace delivers commanding views of Tower Bridge, The Shard, and a sweep of iconic London landmarks – making it a favourite among city-dwellers and tourists alike.
This month, Savage Garden celebrated its seventh anniversary in the way it knows best – with a full-scale, high-energy party in tribute to its years at the top. The 90s themed extravaganza brought neon-lit dancers, nostalgic throwback tracks, and garnished cocktails, carrying guests well into the night.
And its standing is well earned. Located on Pepys Street, the space includes floor-to-ceiling glass, dramatic lighting, and sleek indoor seating that opens onto one of the largest elevated outdoor terrace spaces open to public in London. The layout blends cabana-style loungers with high tables and a dedicated bar, designed for relaxed daytime charm and lively nighttime energy alike.
Cocktails remain a key part of why patrons keep returning to Savage Garden for more. Overseen by Head Mixologist Alessandro Lintas, the menu highlights include Always (a Champagne-led blend with peach vermouth, passionfruit, and tamarillo tincture), Maneki Neko (a layered mix of gin, mango, miso wine, and lemon curd), and Pachamama (a fiery reworking of the margarita with Don Ramón Plata, peach stone orgeat, kumquat, and coriander tincture).
Built for rooftop grazing, the food menu goes well beyond the regular filler snacks you’d expect from a bar, focussing on quality and incredible flavours. Pulled pork bao buns are served with togarashi; pink peppercorn squid is finished with seaweed crisp and yuzu aioli; and crispy chicken wings arrive glazed in fermented pineapple and chilli. Larger plates include Caribbean-style burgers, a showstopping grilled halloumi, and pizza platters that are perfect for sharing. Desserts don’t disappoint – the warm doughnut filled with yuzu and peach custard and topped with coconut crumble is an absolute must-try.
Savage Garden hosts regular events across the year, including a popular Saturday bottomless brunch, where guests can enjoy a music-filled 90 minutes of prosecco or mocktails alongside a three-course set menu. The venue also offers private hire, with Wildside offering a semi-open space with a retractable roof and skyline views for up to 120 guests, and Ferus providing an ideal space for private dining for up to 32, framed by views of the Gherkin and City.
For unbeatable nights out, truly unique views from one of the city’s most striking perspectives, and food and drink to match, there are few venues that do it quite as well as Savage Garden. Birthdays, celebrations, or just your average Thursday night – this London hotspot certainly has you covered.
