SAMSUNG ONE UI 9 BETA LAUNCHES WITH ANDROID 17, NEW AI FEATURES AND ENHANCED SECURITY

Samsung has officially unveiled the latest version of its mobile software experience, bringing a fresh wave of AI-powered tools, accessibility upgrades and stronger security protections to Galaxy users.

The new One UI 9 beta program is rolling out this week for the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, built on top of Android 17. According to Samsung, the update focuses on creativity, customisation and making everyday mobile interactions more intuitive.

The beta release also gives an early glimpse at the advanced Galaxy AI experiences expected to arrive on future Samsung flagship devices later this year.

Samsung One UI 9 Brings New Creative Features

One of the biggest additions in One UI 9 is the expansion of creative tools across Samsung apps.

The updated Samsung Notes app now includes decorative tapes and additional pen line styles, allowing users to personalise notes with more expressive designs and layouts.

Meanwhile, the Contacts app now connects directly to Samsung’s Creative Studio feature, making it easier to create custom profile cards without needing to switch between multiple apps.

Samsung says these updates are designed to streamline creativity and improve personalisation throughout the Galaxy ecosystem.

Redesigned Quick Panel Offers More Customisation

The One UI 9 beta also introduces a redesigned Quick Panel experience with greater flexibility over layout and controls.

Users can now independently resize and arrange brightness, sound and media player controls, giving Galaxy owners more freedom to tailor their interface based on personal preferences.

This update continues Samsung’s push toward a more personalised Android experience while maintaining the clean and familiar look of One UI.

Accessibility Improvements Aim to Make Galaxy Devices Easier to Use

Accessibility receives a major upgrade in One UI 9.

Samsung has added adjustable Mouse Key speed controls for smoother cursor movement and improved navigation support. The update also merges previously separate TalkBack accessibility tools from both Google and Samsung into a single package for a more seamless experience.

Another standout addition is Text Spotlight, a feature that enlarges or highlights selected text in a floating window to make reading easier for users with visual impairments or reading difficulties.

Samsung Strengthens Security in One UI 9

Security is another major focus of the One UI 9 beta.

Samsung says the software now offers enhanced protection against suspicious or high-risk apps. If potentially dangerous applications are detected, users may receive warnings, installation blocks and recommendations to remove the app entirely through updated security policies.

The company continues to expand its mobile protection systems as concerns around Android malware and harmful apps continue to grow globally.

How to Download the Samsung One UI 9 Beta

The One UI 9 beta program is initially launching for the Galaxy S26 lineup in select markets, including the UK.

Eligible users can register for the beta directly through the Samsung Members app.
