Red Bull’s ‘How to Be Superhuman’ makes it return for its second season

Red Bull has announced the second season of its adrenaline-fuelled adventure podcast, ‘How to Be Superhuman’. The returning series will resume in showcasing first-hand accounts from super-humans around the world and how they conquered the seemingly impossible.

The weekly series will be launching from the 12th April and will continue to be hosted by Rob Pope, better known as ‘The Real Life Forrest Gump’ after his epic 15,700 mile adventure, in which he ran across America five times over the course of 18 months. He hasn’t stopped there though, as last autumn saw Rob endure a gruelling run over mount Snowdon and then back to his home in Liverpool all in one day! The unique challenge was all in the name of charity as Rob helped raise money for the Stroke Association after both of his parents-in-law suffered major strokes within the space of 12 months.

Interviewing a host of other remarkable people, each week will see Pope delve into their incredible and unique stories – with each guest sharing their own experiences and providing insight into their drive and determination to succeed.

As a continuation of season 1, season 2 will kick off with episodes 14 and 15 which will look at the astonishing stories of mountaineer, Killian Jornet and marathon swimmer, Sarah Thomas. Known for his boundary breaking achievements, Jornet shares his account of how he scaled Everest not once but twice in just six days. If that wasn’t impressive enough, he endured the whole journey without a supplemental Oxygen supply. Thomas made headlines in 2019 when she became the first woman to swim the English Channel four times non-stop. She shares with Rob what it was that motivated her and how exactly she achieved this mammoth challenge.

Running on a weekly basis, each episode will focus on various inspirational stories – including ones from Red Bull athletes as well as covering a mix of people from multiple backgrounds and locations from around the world – showing the listener what it truly means to be superhuman.

Speaking on the launch of the second season, Rob Pope stated: “It’s a real honour to be back involved on a project as inspirational as this. It’s incredible to think that it was around this time last year that we launched the first series and of course, so much has happened in the world since. If ever we need some inspiration it’s now, so let’s get going, with some more tales of success against the odds. Bigger? They’ll need to invent new measurements by the time we’re done. Better? A dose of How to be Superhuman makes everything better, I find. Strap yourself in, we’re coming in fast.

Maybe by the end of Series 2, I’ll be able to share my next adventure with you.”

‘How to Be Superhuman’ will continue to showcase the amazing spirit of all of humanity and inspire people to make more of their own time and talent, whatever that may be.

The first two episodes launch on 12th April with Killian Jornet and Sarah Thomas available on redbull.com/superhuman, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts and all other major podcast platforms
