Electric Castle concludes its 10th edition with the highest number of participants in its history: the festival attracted up to 68,000 daily attendees this year, solidifying its reputation as one of Europe’s most important music festivals. Over the five days of the festival, more than 200 artists performed across the 10 stages surrounding the stunning Banffy Castle.

Bristol’s trip hop collective Massive Attack mesmerised fans with one of the most beautiful concerts of the year, displaying poignant social messages whilst bringing out featured vocalists like Young FathersHorace AndyElizabeth Fraser and Deborah Miller for all their most influential tracks including “Unfinished Symphony,” “Angel,” and “Safe From Harm”.

Adding to the historic 10th anniversary, the largest number of simultaneous mosh pits in Electric Castle’s history was marked on Friday evening during Bring Me The Horizon‘s concert. Fans from all over Europe got exactly what they expected: an extravagant visual and sound show led by frontman Oli Sykes. Even nature joined in: distant thunder started rumbling during the hit “Teardrops” to complete the electric atmosphere.

Dancehall superstar Sean Paul raised the temperature on the final day with three decades of undeniable hits. Paolo Nutini had the whole main stage crowd swooning to his timeless songs like ‘Candy’ and ‘Iron Sky’.

So many standout moments came from all around the festival. Marc Rebillet‘s charisma shone through during his truly wild and shirtless set, and the enigmatic Sevdaliza captivated the crowd with her unique blend of electronic and experimental sounds. There was a high-energy show with Shaquille O’Neal in his role as DJ Diesel, blissful afternoon vibes from Texas band Khruangbin, and after a surprise moment during the day with a spontaneous concert under the oak tree near the castle, Palaye Royale filled the Hangar stage to capacity, proving once again that rock feels at home at Electric Castle.
