RAEGAN UNVEILS NEW SINGLE ‘CRYING IS A GIRL’S BEST FRIEND’ AND ANNOUNCES NEXT CHAPTER OF RAEGAN CORE!

Rising theatre-pop artist RAEGAN has returned with her latest single, CRYING IS A GIRL’S BEST FRIEND, a bold and theatrical anthem that transforms heartbreak into empowerment. The emotionally charged release serves as a centrepiece of her forthcoming EP, RAEGAN CORE, showcasing the singer-songwriter’s signature blend of Broadway-inspired storytelling and contemporary pop production.

The track arrives alongside a visually striking music video, further cementing RAEGAN’s reputation for creating immersive artistic worlds where drama, vulnerability and spectacle collide.

A Heartbreak Anthem Turned Empowerment Statement

Built around soaring melodies, dramatic crescendos and theatrical flair, CRYING IS A GIRL’S BEST FRIEND reimagines emotional vulnerability as a source of strength.

At its core, the song explores the idea that even in moments of rejection, loneliness and heartbreak, self-acceptance remains a powerful constant. Through a glamorous pop-burlesque lens, RAEGAN delivers a message that resonates long after the curtain falls.

Speaking about the track, RAEGAN said:

“CRYING IS A GIRL’S BEST FRIEND is my Disney princess moment. It’s about realising that after every heartbreak, every rejection, every night spent feeling abandoned, you still have yourself. There’s comfort in that. Crying becomes less about sadness and more about coming home to yourself. I wanted it to feel like the emotional climax of a musical. The moment where everything breaks open and somehow becomes beautiful.”

Theatre-Pop Continues to Find Its Voice

As one of the leading emerging artists in the growing theatre-pop movement, RAEGAN continues to carve out a unique space between musical theatre and alternative pop.

Her upcoming EP, RAEGAN CORE, has been described as a love letter to outsiders, theatre kids and anyone who has ever been told to tone down their personality. Instead, the project embraces individuality, emotional honesty and larger-than-life storytelling.

The EP rollout has already introduced audiences to tracks including:

  • RAEGAN CORE
  • THE ANGEL OF LOS ANGELES
  • LONGING + LAMENT
  • BALLAD OF A PRESCHOOL DROPOUT

The latter was co-written with acclaimed songwriter Bonnie McKee, known for her work with some of pop music’s biggest names.

A Breakthrough Year for RAEGAN

The release follows a standout period for the 23-year-old artist.

Most recently, RAEGAN delivered a celebrated rendition of SZA’s “Kill Bill” for GRAMMY.com and earned a place in HITS Magazine’s Q2 New & Developing Artists roundup alongside artists including Suki Waterhouse and CMAT.

Her rapidly growing audience reflects that momentum. To date, RAEGAN has accumulated more than 3.8 million global streams and over 1.8 million video views across platforms.

She has also collaborated with Brian Newman, Lady Gaga’s longtime trumpeter and bandleader, while receiving praise from industry publications including Billboard, which highlighted her confidence-boosting approach to alternative pop.

From Viral Success to Cult Following

RAEGAN first captured widespread attention with her viral single TIM BURTON, which amassed over one million likes on TikTok and introduced audiences to her distinctive gothic-pop aesthetic.

She followed that success with her debut EP, FCK RAEGAN*, a genre-defying project that blended alt-pop, theatrical influences and camp sensibilities. Tracks such as COINS earned recognition from Billboard’s “Queer Jams of the Week,” while MEAN secured a place on People’s “Talented Emerging Artists” list.

Following tours with Autoheart and Jazmin Bean, RAEGAN has emerged as one of alternative pop’s most compelling new voices, known for immersive performances and ambitious creative direction.

Building a New Genre

More than a singer-songwriter, RAEGAN serves as the creative force behind every aspect of her work, from music production and visual concepts to stage design and performance.

She has toured throughout the UK, Europe and the United States, appeared at New York Fashion Week and collaborated with emerging fashion designers across editorial and live performance projects.

With RAEGAN CORE, she continues to push the boundaries of what modern pop can be, blending theatrical storytelling, emotional vulnerability and experimental production into what she describes as “musical theatre pop.”

As the latest single demonstrates, this is only the beginning of RAEGAN’s most ambitious era yet.
