PETITS FILOUS FANS GO ‘CRAZY’ AFTER DISCOVERING THEIR CHILDHOOD FAVOURITE ISN’T ACTUALLY A YOGHURT

Minds have been blown across TikTok and Instagram this week, as despite looking and tasting like a yoghurt, people have just discovered that Petits Filous is actually fromage frais, which translates to ‘fresh cheese’.

The rumours have been spreading on social media after @mallycinco shared a TikTok asking if ‘he’s been living under a rock’ and claimed ‘he had been lied to’ as he realised what really makes up the delicious and creamy contents of a Petits Filous.

Since bringing this news to the public’s attention, Mally’s video has racked up nearly 1 million views, 100,000 likes and received thousands of surprised comments.

Some people have been freaking out since finding out the news, saying: “knowing it’s cheese completely puts me off” and “CHEESE? YOU LOT WERE SAVOURING LIQUID CHEESE?! it’s a good day to be allergic to dairy”.

Whilst some social media users have embraced the revelation saying: “Yogurt and cheese are basically siblings, chill” and “If you listened in French, you’d know what fromage frais is”.

A spokesperson from Petits Filous has set the record straight, commenting:

“It’s reassuring to see that in our Instagram poll 81% already knew that Petits Filous isn’t a yoghurt. For anyone struggling to believe it, we can confirm Petits Filous is made from fromage frais! Just check our packaging and website!”

“People will be pleased to know that this recipe confusion comes with some health and taste benefits. When being made, fromage frais is ‘drained / separated’ which does not occur when making a yoghurt*. This means protein and calcium is naturally concentrated in fromage frais so contains higher amounts than a yoghurt. Fromage frais also has a smoother, softer texture and milder, creamier taste than a yoghurt.”

“We hope kids and grown-ups can get over the shock and continue to enjoy our delicious pots made with calcium & vitamin D that they know and love!”

An Instagram post by @greatbritish.memes has also joined the conversation after posting a screenshot of the Google search questioning whether Petits Filous is a yoghurt. The Petits Filous social team noticed the post which has had over 43,000 likes and commented “Guess what? You’ve just unlocked the “fromage frais” level of adulthood!”
