Rooftop terrace season has officially taken over the capital, with soaring temperatures and packed-out outdoor dining spots signalling the return of London summer – and right on cue, La-Yam has reopened for 2026, already shaping up to be one of the city’s hottest reservations.
Hidden eight floors above Holborn Station, the sprawling rooftop is all about panoramic skyline views, Mediterranean-inspired dining, and sunset cocktails, alongside music-filled evenings and a packed calendar of standout events – from bottomless Sunday roasts through to late-night DJs and live jazz sessions.
As Holborn’s only open-air rooftop bar, La-Yam, translating from Hebrew as “to the sea”, draws inspiration from long shared dinners, relaxed drinks, and lively outdoor evenings that channel the warmth and energy of Mediterranean coastal dining into the heart of central London. The food and drink offering is led by celebrated chef Eran Shachaf, who has curated a menu of mezze-style sharing plates, grilled meats, skewers, and bold Levantine flavours, served alongside signature cocktails including Watermelon Martinis, Mandarine Palomas, Hugo Spritzes, and Margarita Picantes.
La-Yam also has an enviable event calendar lined up for the summer. Sundays are dominated by the venue’s now-famous open-flame Asado Sunday Roast, where guests can enjoy bottomless beef short rib and harissa chicken alongside champagne and skyline views high above Holborn. Tuesday evenings bring “Sky-High” live jazz and smokey blues sessions, while Fridays deliver sunset DJ sets spotlighting emerging London talent. Following the Sunday roasts, the rooftop transforms once again for Sunday Night Fever, with live house band FosseyTango performing marathon Motown, funk, soul, reggae, jazz, and 90s medleys that regularly keep the terrace packed long into the evening.
The new hotspot is certainly one to keep on the radar long after the summer season ends. With a retractable roof arriving later this year, La-Yam is already positioning itself as a year-round rooftop favourite for Londoners – extending well beyond the heatwaves and into a permanent fixture on the capital’s social scene.
