Brunch is firmly back in the spotlight at Riding House Café this summer, with a refreshed menu full of the standout comfort dishes and showstopping flavour combinations Londoners have come to expect from arguably the city’s most dependable all-day dining destination – and 15 years on from its first opening, it proves exactly why it still definitively wears the crown.
Since launching its original Great Titchfield Street site back in 2011, Riding House Café has perfected a style of dining most London restaurants rarely get right. Combining Michelin-quality menus and sophisticated interiors with a lively yet laidback atmosphere, it fluidly shifts from early coffee meetings and solo breakfasts through to celebratory dinners and cocktail-fuelled weekends – regularly keeping tables packed with fiercely loyal fans and eager culinary explorers alike.
The new menu brings with it a mix of indulgent comfort dishes and sharper seasonal additions, with must-try small plates like the Sticky Ginger Aubergine with coconut miso sauce, which serves up sweetness, heat, and savoury richness in one of our favourite dishes at Riding House Café, and the popular Pumpkin Bakes with corn, lime and chilli coconut yoghurt.
The towering CBA sandwich is the standout dish from the new menu, stacking soft-shell crab tempura, smoked streaky Dingley Dell bacon, avocado, and black garlic ponzu aioli between thick slices of brioche in one gloriously messy and memorable brunch order. The Cinnamon French Toast with Buttermilk Fried Chicken and chipotle hollandaise comes close behind, with an expertly balanced sweetness and spice creating a dangerously addictive dish that guarantees no crumb is left behind.
Elsewhere, dishes such as the Brook Street Lamb Kofta, Truffle Chilli Fried Eggs, and of course, the Full & Proper Breakfast ensure everyone is more than catered for. And because dessert isn’t just for dinner, the Hot Sticky Toffee Brioche Doughnuts are a stellar way to finish an indulgent brunch, while the seasonal Sorbets that include Mandarin and Pear offer a lighter finish that is perfect for the warmer afternoons.
Partly for the constantly evolving menus and partly for the endless series of new offers and activities that Riding House Café offers, no two visits feel quite the same. One weekend might revolve around the popular “Off to the Races” bottomless brunch with free-flowing cocktails, tabletop games with the winner earning 50% off their share of the menu, and cinnamon doughnuts, while another becomes an impromptu evening stop-in for wine and small plates at the bar. Add in cocktail masterclasses and a strong smoothie menu that works as a post-gym pick-up or a refresher to-go, and it becomes clear that the restaurant stretches far beyond the usual brunch formula.
Founder Adam White built the restaurants around the idea of creating somewhere that carried the atmosphere of a private members’ club without the exclusivity – and fifteen years later, that formula still works flawlessly. On this side of its anniversary, Riding House Café still delivers exactly what Londoners crave from an all-day restaurant: exceptional food, brilliant atmosphere, and an easy addition to your recommendation list before you’ve even paid the bill.
Riding House Café Fitzrovia is located at 43–51 Great Titchfield Street, London W1W 7PQ, with additional locations in Bloomsbury and Victoria. You can browse the menus, explore the latest brunch additions, and book your table right here.
