Cat owners across the UK and Ireland are being challenged to prove their pet has the purr-fect vocal talent, with £10,000 up for grabs in Marro’s nationwide ‘Meow’ competition.
Think your cat has a meow worthy of the spotlight? Now could be the time to put their vocal talents to the test.
Fresh cat food brand Marro has teamed up with Pussycat Dolls star Kimberly Wyatt to launch a nationwide search for the ultimate Marro Meow, with one lucky cat set to win their owner a huge £10,000 cash prize.
The competition is calling on cat owners across the UK and Ireland to share videos of their feline friends delivering their most unique, dramatic or downright adorable meows on Instagram and TikTok.
The catch? Marro is particularly interested in finding the cat whose vocal talents sound most like “Marro”.
Kimberly Wyatt Is Joining the Search for the UK’s Best Meow
Who better to judge a feline vocal competition than a Pussycat Doll?
Kimberly Wyatt, the singer, dancer and Pussycat Dolls star, has joined Marro as a celebrity judge and will be part of a five-person panel tasked with finding the nation’s most impressive meowing cat.
Wyatt will also be taking to social media throughout the competition to listen to entries and react to some of her favourite feline performances.
“I know a thing or two about vocal presence and stage charisma, and it’s time our cats get their moment in the spotlight! I am so excited to team up with Marro to find the ultimate Marro Meow.”
Kimberly Wyatt.
From tiny squeaks and enthusiastic greetings to full-blown dinner-time performances, the competition is designed to celebrate just how expressive our cats can be.
Why Is It Called Marro?
There’s a reason the competition is centred around the word “Marro”.
Marro launched as a sister company to Butternut Box, offering fresh cat food made with human-quality ingredients that is gently cooked and delivered directly to customers. The brand explains that its name was chosen partly because “Marro” naturally sounds like a cat meowing.
Now, the brand wants to find a cat that can bring the name to life.
How to Enter the Marro Meow Competition
Entering the competition is free and open to cat owners across the UK and Ireland.
To enter, owners need to:
- Record: Film your cat showing off their vocal talents on Instagram or TikTok.
- Tag: Tag @MarroForCats in your post.
- Hashtag: Include #MeowForMarro.
- Caption: Include the phrase: “This is [Cat’s Name]’s submission to win the Marro Meow £10k” in the caption or video audio.
Entries close at 11:59pm on 6 September 2026, so cat owners have a limited window to capture their pet’s best performance.
Following the closing date, a shortlist will be put to a public community vote on social media before the judging panel makes the final decision.
The winner is expected to be announced between 14 and 18 September 2026.
What Does the Winner Get?
Aside from bragging rights as Britain’s ultimate vocal cat, the winning feline will become Marro’s official brand voice, with their meow set to feature across the brand’s media touchpoints.
Their owner will also take home a £10,000 lump-sum cash prize.
Finnegan Shepard, Senior Brand Marketing Lead at Marro, said the campaign is about celebrating the “magic” of cats while giving owners the chance to turn their pet into an unlikely star.
“With Kimberly and her cat Coraline onboard,” Shepard added, “we have incredible musical energy to judge these vocals and help us uncover the ultimate Marro Meow.”
