This St David’s Day, Quaglino’s is set to host an unforgettable evening in partnership with Katherine Jenkins OBE, incorporating fine dining, her premium gin Cygnet, and world-class live music for a true celebration of Welsh heritage from London’s Mayfair.
Taking place on Saturday 1st March, the event is the fruition of the partnership between the iconic restaurant and celebrated mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins, who has infused the evening with a touch of her personal Welsh roots. An exclusive menu, crafted in collaboration with Executive Chef Jack Smith, will be served on the night, accompanied by performances by the Idalia String Quartet, talented students from the Royal Academy of Music where Jenkins studied. Of course, Quaglino’s resident party band New Atlantics will always be at hand to blend classic anthems with a few Welsh favourites, and keep energy high until late.
The three-course menu is a true tribute to Wales, spotlighting beloved ingredients and flavours that evoke Jenkins’ upbringing in Neath. Dishes include cockles with smoked pancetta and laverbread on toasted sourdough with seaweed butter, a Manuka honey and lavender-glazed shoulder of Salt Marsh lamb with braised leeks and Caerphilly cheese, and a Welsh amber tart with chamomile cremeux and bilberry ripple ice cream for a sweet finish.
No celebration would be complete without an impressive choice of drinks, and Jenkins’ own luxury spirit, Cygnet Gin, is the perfect match to base these on. Four specially crafted cocktails will debut at the event and be available throughout March and April, including the Sweet Memories, a warming mix of Cygnet ’22’, fennel liqueur, and ginger ale, and the Beehive, blending Cygnet Welsh Dry Gin with chamomile, pear, and honey.
The evening is priced at £80 per person for the three-course dinner with live music, with the option to enhance the experience with the four-Cygnet Gin cocktail pairing for an additional £45 per person.
