A wave of football nostalgia swept through JD Sports Liverpool ONE last Friday as JD Sports teamed up with adidas to celebrate the launch of the adidas x Liverpool FC Bringback 95/96 collection — with club legend Robbie Fowler leading the celebrations.
The retailer transformed its Liverpool ONE store into “Fowler’s Sports,” a nostalgic pop-up inspired by classic 1990s football culture. The space recreated the look of a retro sports shop, complete with timber display units, chrome rails and traditional slatwall panels, delivering a full throwback to the era when Liverpool FC’s iconic kits and terrace style defined football fashion.
The activation formed part of the wider adidas campaign celebrating the return of one of the club’s most recognisable kits.
A 90s Football Throwback with Liverpool Legends
The pop-up also features prominently in the campaign film for the collection, which pays tribute to the style, energy and community that shaped football culture in the 1990s.
Alongside Fowler, fellow Liverpool icon Steve McManaman appears in the campaign alongside current men’s and women’s squad members — bridging the club’s heritage with the modern era.
Fans attending the event were treated to an exclusive meet-and-greet with Fowler, followed by a live Q&A hosted by Mo Stewart from the popular football podcast The Anfield Wrap.
Supporters who secured tickets also received exclusive ‘Fowler’s Sports’ merchandise, including a limited-edition gift bag packed with retro-inspired items such as stickers, scarves and mugs branded with adidas and JD.
Shoppers purchasing jerseys from the collection were also able to personalise their kits with “Fowler 23” shirt printing, making the experience even more memorable for lifelong Reds.
