IKEA is is once again transforming the Christmas dinner table, as it announces its much-hyped Turkey-sized Meatball is returning for a second year. What’s more, following the social media frenzy last year, this festive season customers can also get their hands on a plant-based Cabbage-sized Plantball too.
Move over classic turkey – there’s a new festive tradition in town. IKEA’s Turkey-sized meatball is making a triumphant return, and it’s bringing more than just a giant serving of holiday cheer. Weighing in at a whopping 6kg and feeding up to 24 people, the extra-large version of IKEA’s iconic Meatball also comes with all the trimmings you could dream of. Served with delicious Lingonberry Jam, cream sauce gravy and mash, there’s plenty for hosting friends and family, and of course, leftovers too.
Meanwhile, the Cabbage-sized Plantball, which weighs 3kg and feeds 12, is also accompanied with IKEA’s Lingonberry Jam, alongside Potato Rosti. To help customers to cook their Meatball or Plantball to perfection, they will come alongside the cooking essentials of a temperature probe and roasting tin.

This year, there are multiple ways to help customers get their hands on the coveted dishes, with details of the social competition revealed on the IKEA UK Instagram, TikTok and Facebook pages tomorrow (Thursday 5th December). That’s not all, as IKEA Family Members visiting IKEA stores between Thursday 5th and Sunday 15th December can embark on a meatball maze. All customers need to do is follow the clues and scan the in-store QR codes to complete a meatball trivia test along the digital trail to be in with a chance of getting their hands on one.
What’s more, this festive season, IKEA Family members can also enjoy a delicious Meatball Festive Feast in the IKEA restaurant. Including all the trimmings of roast potatoes, parsnips, sprouts, red cabbage and gravy for just £4.95 from Friday 13th until Sunday 15th December. The Plantball version is available at the same price right up until Monday 23rd December.
