Heritage Resorts & Golf is bringing a new energy to Christmas and New Year in Mauritius with ALIVE, a spectacular festive programme combining world-class dining, live music, wellness, golf, family adventures and the natural beauty of Bel Ombre.
This festive season, luxury Mauritian escape Heritage Resorts & Golf is inviting travellers to experience the island in a whole new way with ALIVE, its annual festive celebration running from 23 December 2026 to 3 January 2027.
Taking place across the extraordinary Bel Ombre estate, ALIVE will transform the festive period into a continuous celebration of food, music, wellness, culture and nature.
Set across 2,500 hectares of preserved nature, the programme has been designed to showcase the many sides of Bel Ombre, with experiences ranging from laid-back mornings and wellness sessions to sunset gatherings, fine dining and celebrations beneath the Mauritian night sky.
A Festive Celebration That Goes Beyond Christmas and New Year’s Eve
Now in its fifth edition, ALIVE is designed to make the festive season feel less like a series of individual events and more like one extended experience.
Rather than focusing solely on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, the programme will run throughout the holiday period, with the atmosphere changing from morning through to late evening.
Guests can begin their days with yoga, meditation or outdoor adventures before moving into afternoons filled with golf, family activities and time by the ocean. As the sun sets, the pace will shift towards live performances, cocktails, exceptional dining and beachside celebrations.
Raoul Maurel, Chief Operations Officer at Heritage Resorts & Golf, describes ALIVE as having evolved into much more than a traditional festive programme.
“With its fifth edition, ALIVE has become far more than a festive programme, it is a true happening.”
The celebration will bring together Mauritian and international talent across culinary arts, music, golf and wellness, creating a packed programme designed to keep guests entertained throughout their stay.
Michelin-Starred Chefs Bring a Taste of the World to Mauritius
Food will be at the heart of ALIVE, with Heritage Resorts bringing internationally acclaimed chefs to Bel Ombre alongside the estate’s existing collection of restaurants and dining experiences.
The 2026/27 programme will feature Davy Tissot, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, Bocuse d’Or winner and Michelin-starred chef; Laurent Lemal, Michelin-starred chef; and Arnaud Vanhamme, Meilleur Ouvrier de France and Master Fishmonger.
Among the standout culinary events are:
- Christmas Eve Special Gala Dinner – 24 December at Le Château de Bel Ombre
- The Fisherman’s Atelier by Arnaud Vanhamme – 25 December at Le Palmier
- Gala Dinner by Chef Davy Tissot – 26 December at Gin’ja
- An Evening in White – 31 December at Arabella’s
For food lovers looking to make their festive escape about more than the traditional Christmas dinner, ALIVE promises an impressive line-up of gastronomic experiences.
Live Music, Sunset Sessions and Nights Under the Stars
As well as its culinary offering, ALIVE will bring music and entertainment to venues throughout the Heritage Resorts estate.
Local and international artists, DJs, live musicians and performers will feature across resort and beachfront settings, with sunset becoming one of the defining moments of the programme.
Highlights include Christmas carols, an acoustic cello quartet and a performance by Eric Triton on 24 December at Heritage Le Telfair, followed by a Christmas Day Sundowner at Heritage Awali.
Later in the week, guests can catch DJ Mia Sun and DJ She Devil at Gin’ja Beach on 29 December.
The celebrations will reach their peak on New Year’s Eve, when DJs, a live saxophonist and drummers will soundtrack the countdown at the Main Pool at Heritage Le Telfair, followed by traditional midnight fireworks.
Wellness, Golf and Adventures for the Whole Family
While ALIVE brings plenty of energy to the festive season, there is also plenty of opportunity to slow down.
Heritage Spa & Wellness will host a dedicated programme featuring yoga, meditation, sound healing, Tai Chi, Pilates and other holistic practices.
Three exclusive workshops will also be led by international wellness instructor Agnieszka Kozarska, offering guests the chance to build some restorative downtime into their holiday.
Golfers can head to the championship fairways of La Réserve Golf Links, where an exclusive golf challenge and masterclass will be hosted by PGA Professional Lewis Wallace.
Families are also well catered for, with a programme of children’s activities including culinary workshops, creative sessions, water adventures, junior golf, beach experiences, stargazing and festive celebrations.
Discover Bel Ombre Beyond the Resort
One of the biggest draws of ALIVE is its setting.
The wider Bel Ombre estate gives guests the opportunity to explore Mauritius beyond the traditional resort experience, with activities taking place among the area’s mountains, coastline and preserved natural landscapes.
Guests can explore the Bel Ombre Nature Reserve or learn more about the island’s marine environment at the Heritage Marine Education Centre, adding a more adventurous and educational element to the festive getaway.
The programme reflects Heritage Resorts’ wider focus on connecting luxury travel with the natural and cultural character of Mauritius.
A More Sustainable Way to Experience Mauritius
Heritage Resorts’ commitment to sustainability also plays an important role in its approach to hospitality through its Now for Tomorrow programme.
The initiative focuses on practical actions including local sourcing, reducing single-use plastics and waste, supporting surrounding communities and protecting the natural environment.
Bel Ombre itself forms part of the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme, highlighting the importance of protecting its biodiversity, landscapes and traditions.
For Heritage Resorts, sustainability is positioned not simply as a long-term ambition but as something incorporated into everyday operations and the wider guest experience.
