Greggs has officially opened its new flagship shop at 1 Leicester Square, London, following months of fan excitement. Fans flocked to Greggs’ spin on a blockbuster-style premiere wanting to be the first to step out onto the blue carpet and pose in front of the dazzling paparazzi board.

The shop officially premiered this week, with drag sensation and ultimate Greggs fan Pasty Kween – who went viral last year with her iconic Sausage Roll reveal – donning a bespoke Greggs dress to mark the special occasion.

Other guests also premiered their finest looks as they hit the Greggs blue carpet. Social media influencers Kate Ovens and Bryony Morganna shimmered in satin gowns as they arrived at the carpet and enjoyed a Sausage Roll.

Fans revelled the opportunity to take part in the Greggs premiere and some couldn’t contain their excitement about the opening on social media.

The opening of 1 Leicester Square is one of a host of new shops opening in London this year as the Newcastle-based food-on-the-go retailer continues its expansion across the UK. The new shop will also help to create 55 jobs for the local area.

The shop will stock freshly prepared Greggs favourites, including its popular Sausage Roll, Steak Bake and delicious vegan alternatives. Customers will also be able to make Click + Collect orders via the Greggs App.

The Leicester Square shop will be open:

  • Monday – Saturday: 6am – 11pm
  • Sunday: 7am – 11pm
