Gaucho Puts Malbec Back in Focus with Hannah Crosbie Collaboration

Gaucho is marking World Malbec Day on 17th April with a month-long collaboration alongside celebrated wine writer, author and broadcaster Hannah Crosbie. The menu brings together four wines from Terrazas de los Andes, spanning Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, all produced in the winery’s high-altitude vineyards in Mendoza. It will run across all Gaucho restaurants nationwide, showcasing the best of the restaurant’s flavours and flair for the perfect pairings.

The wine list for the menu centres on four bottles from Terrazas de los Andes, the Mendoza winery known for its high-altitude vineyards that rise from 1,070 to 1,650 metres above sea level. Grand Malbec 2022 brings depth and structure, with notes of violet, blackberries and thyme running through it. Reserva Malbec 2024 sits as a slightly softer option, delivering black fruit, spice and a touch of chocolate. Alongside these, Cabernet Sauvignon 2024 adds a brighter, more lifted profile, while Reserva Chardonnay 2024 brings a clean, expressive counterpoint to the reds.

Alongside the wines are Gaucho’s most recognisable dishes, each designed to complement and be elevated by the intensity of the Malbec selection. Guests can look forward to steak tartare with hand-cut beef, chimichurri and crispy wonton, followed by the signature churrasco sirloin, marinated in garlic, parsley and olive oil, and bringing char and richness that mirrors the depth of the Malbecs. The meal finishes with a dulce de leche basque cheesecake, drawing out the softer fruit notes in the final pours.

Hannah Crosbie brings an additional lens to the collaborationn, drawing on her background as a drinks writer, author and broadcaster. Her work spans titles including The Guardian, The Observer and The Financial Times, alongside regular appearances across broadcast and print. For this menu, she helps shape a selection that opens up Malbec in an accessible way but without losing appeal for long-time drinkers. Gaucho, in turn, is a natural setting for the project, rooted in Argentine steakhouse culture with a clear focus on beef, wine, and the Latin American influence that continues to define its appeal in London and beyond.

The Malbec Menu will be available from 17 April 2026 to 17 May 2026 across Gaucho restaurants nationwide. You can find out more about the collaboration, browse the rest of the menus, and book your table right here.
