German Kraft Brewery is marking the World Cup with a major new fan zone in Elephant and Castle, bringing big-screen football and beer-led celebrations to South London. Set within Mercato Metropolitano, the open-air arena promises a high-energy setting for every match across the tournament – with free pints on offer when England score as an added bonus.
World Cup fixtures are set to be shown on a 20sqm screen, with space for up to 700 guests on a free entry, first-come basis. The first 10 pints will be poured on the house after every England and Germany goal, but tank-fresh beer will be flowing throughout, with £10 one-litre steins available across the site. Alongside that, country-themed cocktails will be shaken up to represent each team in the tournament – from Spanish Sangrias and French Parisian Spritzes to Brazilian Caipirinhas), with live DJs also on the lineup along with face painting and pre-match entertainment to keep the energy high from well before kick-off to the end of the night.
Keeping with the international nature of the tournament, there are also food traders covering over 50 cuisines on offer at Mercato Metropolitano to keep guests well-fed, with everything from quick bites to more substantial dishes available, designed to be eaten between halves or shared with a group. Drinks can also be ordered directly to tables, for the ultimate matchday experience in the sun.
German Kraft Brewery has built its name on brewing traditional German-style beers on-site, served fresh from tank to glass. Founded in 2017, the brand draws on Franconian brewing culture, following the German purity law with a stripped-back approach that uses only water, malt, hops and yeast. Its Elephant and Castle site has been central to that story, acting as both a production space and a social hub within Mercato Metropolitano. With the venue set to close at the end of 2026, this World Cup series doubles as a send-off for one of South London’s most recognisable beer spots.
The special World Cup promotions and activations will be running at 42 Newington Causeway, London SE1 6DR for the duration of the tournament. You can find out more about German Kraft Brewery and view the full lineup here.
