Los Angeles alt-rock riser Forest has returned with her gripping new single, “Prosthetic Stars”, available to stream now. Blending stadium-ready riffs with shimmering synth textures, the track signals an exciting new era for the LA-based artist as she continues carving out a distinctive space in the alternative scene.
Forest Shares New Single “Prosthetic Stars”
Built on brightly toned synths and emotionally charged guitar lines, “Prosthetic Stars” swells with intensity rather than erupting into chaos. Anchored by urgent, driving drums, the track balances desire and discomfort in equal measure. Forest’s commanding vocal performance sits front and centre, delivering raw vulnerability with a restrained power that lingers long after the final note.

Speaking about the single, Forest explains:
“‘Prosthetic Stars’ was one of the first real songs I wrote when I moved to Los Angeles. At the time, I was fresh off my party months and wanted more. Around that time, I realised the person I was seeing was just a different type of distraction. In that moment, there’s no way I could have found love in another person. It’s a lot about throwing yourself into things that don’t mean much — jumping into the pool and then wondering why you’re treading water.”
The result is a track that feels emotionally weighty yet melodically buoyant — a reflection on self-sabotage, longing and the blurred lines between connection and escapism.
From Intravenous French Kiss to 2026 Tour with Clarion
Forest’s latest release follows her 2025 four-track EP, Intravenous French Kiss. The project — which featured fan favourite “Braid Your Hair” — leaned into emo-tinged guitars, whisper-soft yet resolute vocals, and introspective lyricism. Across the EP, she embraced angst and intimacy, pushing her sound further into a heady blend of shoegaze haze and alt-rock punch.
On stage, Forest is anything but restrained. Known for electrifying live performances, she has previously shared stages with rising names including Starcrawler, Chokecherry and Empty Shell Casing, building a reputation across the West Coast for chaotic, sweat-soaked shows.
Kicking off 2026 in style, Forest performed at the sold-out BurnDown emo revival festival in Santa Ana, CA. Later this spring, she’ll embark on an expansive North American run with Clarion, bringing her high-energy live show to major cities across the US and Canada.

A Rising Force in Alt-Rock
Based in Los Angeles, Forest fuses shoegaze textures, industrial edge, pop hooks and ’90s rock nostalgia into a sound that feels both gritty and cinematic. Her songwriting occupies the liminal space between confrontation and confession — soft-spoken admissions delivered with deliberate force.
While her recorded music leans into introspection, her live shows tell a louder story. Packed venues routinely transform into frenzied scenes of crowd surfers and mosh pits, with Forest commanding the chaos at the centre. The contrast between her tender lyricism and explosive stage presence has quickly become her signature.
With a debut album slated for release in 2026, “Prosthetic Stars” sets the tone for what promises to be a defining year.
Fans can stream “Prosthetic Stars” now on all major platforms and follow Forest on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
