Formula One‘s first-ever opening ceremony kicked off the Las Vegas Grand Prix last night with performances from the Blue Man Group, Grammy award winner John Legend, and Tiesto. Forthose who didn’t attend, It was recorded and distributed through Formula One’s website roughly three hours later. If you haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, here is everything you may have missed yesterday and what you have to look forward to this historic race weekend.

At 4 PM local time, drivers began to enter the paddock, and, in true Las Vegas fashion, they were quickly promoted to take photos with Elvis’s impersonators and members of the Blue Man Group. Soon after, the thirty-minute ceremony began with flashing lights and hundreds ofcheering fans. The ceremony included performances from, in order of appearance: Thirty Seconds to Mars, Keith Urban, Andra Day, Kylie, Bishop Briggs, Journey, Steve Aoki, J. Balvin, Tiesto with John Legend, and finished up Will.i.am.

Following the performances, a rock rendition of the Formula One theme song began to play. Drivers were lifted on platforms as their names were announced. That was the end of the performance-packed ceremony and officially marked the beginning of the highly anticipated race weekend.

Next on the schedule is the first of three free practices, beginning Thursday at 8:30 PM local time.
