ESK Evidence Skincare Launches Next-Generation Serum for Stubborn Pigmentation

Pigmentation remains one of the most persistent and emotionally taxing skin concerns, often resistant to quick fixes and aggressive treatments. With the launch of Enlighten Gold, ESK Evidence Skincare introduces a next-generation serum designed to address uneven skin tone with clinical precision and long-term, sustainable skin health in mind.

Commonly presenting as sunspots, melisma, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, this prevalent skincare concern occurs when melanin is produced in excess, unevenly, or in unexpected areas of the skin. It affects all skin types and tones, though triggers can vary widely, from sun exposure and hormonal fluctuations to acne-related inflammation, aggressive treatments, and genetic predisposition. Sensitive, menopausal, rosacea-prone, acne-prone, and post-procedure skin often struggle most with traditional pigment treatments, which can cause irritation or rebound darkening.

This complexity makes pigmentation particularly challenging to manage, requiring carefully balanced formulations that deliver results without disrupting skin health. Created by Australian GP and ESK founder Dr Ginni Mansberg, the new formula reflects years of research into treating pigmentation safely, effectively, and most importantly, without compromising the skin barrier.

Enlighten Gold is formulated to target pigmentation at multiple stages using three evidence-backed actives, each selected for both performance and tolerance. At its core is 0.3 percent 4-n-butylresorcinol, a powerful tyrosinase inhibitor that works directly at the source of excess melanin production, offering visible results without the irritation risks associated with harsher alternatives. Supporting this is 3 percent gluconolactone, a gentle polyhydroxy acid that promotes cell turnover, refines texture, and improves clarity while maintaining barrier integrity. Finally, the 5 percent niacinamide strengthens the skin barrier, improving tone irregularities, and enhancing overall resilience.

The resulting formulation is designed for daily, long-term use that can be easily tolerated across even the most sensitive skin types.

Provisional clinical trials show consistently strong performance across key concerns around brightness, texture, and of course pigmentation. After eight weeks of use, 70 percent of participants saw visible improvements in brightness, while 60 percent reported a reduction in pigmentation. When paired with ESK’s Ultimate A Gold night treatment, results improved further, with 92 percent noting improvements in texture and brightness, and 67 percent reporting reduced pigmentation. The most pronounced improvements were seen in overall luminosity, skin clarity, and tone uniformity.

Founded by Dr Ginni Mansberg, ESK Evidence Skincare was created to bridge the gap between clinical evidence and daily skincare, offering formulas built around efficacy, integrity, and tolerance. Known in Australia for her work in women’s health, broadcasting, and clinical practice, Dr Mansberg co-founded the brand alongside her husband Daniel, driven by frustration with marketing-led skincare unsupported by robust science. The brand’s commitment to evidence-led formulation has also attracted high-profile involvement, including actor Selma Blair, who became an investor, brand partner, and co-creator after discovering ESK while managing her own sensitive, autoimmune-related skin concerns. Together, Blair and Dr Mansberg collaborated on Ultimate A Gold, a retinal-based night treatment designed specifically for reactive, mature, and hormonally shifting skin.

Enlighten Gold is now available online for £77. You can find out more about the product, learn more about ESK, and shop the full range of products right here.
