Santa Maria, London’s beloved Neapolitan pizzeria, is celebrating 15 years of serving up proper pizza with the launch of a bold new menu. Known for its traditional roots and uniquely original flavour variants, the restaurant is marking the milestone with a range of inventive new additions, including an aubergine-packed San Vincenzo and a smoky, sausage-filled Sant Ambrogio.
Founded in 2010 by Naples-born friends Angelo Ambrosio and Pasquale Chionchio, Santa Maria was created as a true showcase of authentic Neapolitan craft. What began as a small site in Ealing quickly grew into a beloved London-wide group, with restaurants in Fulham, Fitzrovia, Islington, and most recently, Paddington. A steadfast commitment to doing pizza the right way has kept loyal fans coming back for inventive menus, a buzzing atmosphere, and that unmistakable taste of Naples.
The new menu introduces some delicious surprises, while keeping the Italian spirit alive. The San Vincenzo, topped with aubergine parmigiana, smoked mozzarella, tomato sauce and parmesan crisps, embraces the fresh but rich notes of the region’s cuisine, while the Sant Ambrogio combines smoked mozzarella, mixed peppers, fennel sausage, and optional wild rocket for a hearty and aromatic option. There’s also an option for plant-based diners, the San Carlo offering a vibrant vegan mix of tomato and onion sauce, roasted aubergines, plum tomatoes, basil pesto and toasted sunflower seeds.
The limited-edition San Ciro has also launched, a product of the extra special collaboration with Bro Pizzeria, one of Naples’ most renowned pizza spots. Created with pizza maestro Ciro Tutino, this popular new special features smoked mozzarella, pepperoni, spicy pineapple reduction, black lime dust, parmesan crisps and chilli flakes. The newcomers join Santa Maria’s line-up of classics, including the award-winning Santa Margherita, indulgent Calzone San Salvatore, and crowd-pleasing Santa Caterina.
