Horse racing and nostalgic pop music will come together this summer as the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup & Concert returns to Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 8 August 2026, promising an action-packed day of world-class racing followed by live performances from some of the biggest names of the 90s and 00s.
One of Ascot’s most popular fixtures, the annual event combines an international team horse racing competition with an open-air concert, making it a standout date in the UK’s summer events calendar.
Blue, B*Witched, Boyzlife and Marvin Humes Join the Shergar Cup Concert Line-up
After six competitive races on the track, racegoers will be treated to a post-racing concert featuring:
- Blue
- B*Witched
- Boyzlife (Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden)
- Marvin Humes
Fans can expect a setlist packed with nostalgic chart favourites alongside newer material, bringing plenty of feel-good 90s and 00s pop anthems to close out the day.
What Is the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup?
Unlike traditional horse racing meetings, the Shergar Cup sees elite jockeys competing as part of international teams rather than as individuals.
The 2026 edition marks the 25th running of the event and introduces the Hong Kong Jockey Club as a brand-new team alongside:
- Great Britain & Ireland
- Europe
- Rest of the World
- Hong Kong Jockey Club
Each jockey is guaranteed five rides across six races, with teams battling for the prestigious Shergar Cup trophy while riders compete individually for the Alistair Haggis Silver Saddle.
Among the headline names confirmed are Vincent Ho, who will captain the new Hong Kong Jockey Club team, Australia’s Jamie Melham, serving as Global Event Ambassador and captain of the Rest of the World team, and returning favourite Suraj Narredu. The meeting will also be broadcast live on ITV for viewers watching from home.
Ascot Celebrates 25 Years of the Shergar Cup

- Winning Post Enclosure – from £55

Children under 18 receive free entry when accompanied by a paying adult (up to four children per adult), while hospitality dining packages begin from £174 + VAT per person. Gates open at 11am on Saturday 8 August.
