what to eat now: Doritos Diner

Doritos is launching its first-ever virtual restaurant in the UK, bringing snack fans mouth-watering dishes featuring Doritos’ undeniably bold flavour and flare. The Doritos Diner will be available from today, in three locations across London – Clapham Junction, Bethnal Green and Kings Cross* – bringing a tasty, tortilla-chip crunch to the city.

Doritos has partnered with Lean Kitchen Network to create a menu of tantalizing dishes that are dusted with the unbeatable Doritos taste. From finger-licking, loaded nacho plates to Doritos crumb-coated fried chicken burgers and Texas BBQ wings served with Chilli Heatwave Crunch to crank up the heat, the Doritos Diner will bring a tangy twist to traditional diner dishes. There is also an offering of delicious vegetarian alternatives such as BBQ pulled jackfruit nachos, veggie Double Dip Quesadillas and spicy Cheese and Jalapeño Bites, with the Doritos Diner bringing bold flavours to these irresistible meat-free meals.

Alongside this eccentric menu of reimagined staple dishes, the Doritos Diner introduces ‘Make Your Play’ nachos which encourages tortilla-chip aficionados to unleash their creativity with the chance to build their own nachos dish. The diner also boasts a wide range of dips and crunches, providing maximum taste and texture to its tantalising menu and the opportunity to amplify that Doritos crunch by mixing and matching flavours.

Doritos-lovers can enjoy the new tortilla-chip inspired menu from their own home with the virtual Doritos Diner available on Uber Eats. For nacho fans who don’t live in the delivery radius or are craving a dine-in experience after a year of takeaways, the Asda superstore in Clapham Junction is also offering a selection of the Doritos inspired meals as a dine-in experience.

Lean Kitchen Network Founder, Faraz Nagree said: “Working with Doritos on this virtual restaurant launch has been an incredible experience. We’ve been able to push the boundaries on creativity and experimentation, which has resulted in a mash up of their iconic tortilla chip and the favourites you would expect to find in a traditional diner.

This is just the start, the Doritos Diner is a platform which allows us to connect with customers in a new and innovative way and involve them as we develop new products. The offer will evolve over time in line with tastes, trends and customer feedback.

The launch of the Doritos Diner coincides with the brand’s latest marketing campaign, ‘Make Your Play’, which encourages consumers to hit play on self-expression after a year of living life on pause.

Cynthia Finke, Doritos Senior Marketing Manager said: “Doritos always enjoys watching nacho fans across the UK get creative with their own distinctive recipes at home. The launch of the Doritos Diner will celebrate this creativity and encourage people to continue to try new and exciting food. We’re thrilled to have Lean Kitchen as our partner as they have truly embodied Doritos’ bold and unique personality into this playful and exciting menu.”

Doritos fans can get their hands on the new mouthwatering menu by visiting Uber Eats, with tasty treats starting from just £4. To find out more, please visit the Doritos Diner social channels: Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
