DELIVEROO STUDENTS BRINGS FREE WINGSTOP TO MANCHESTER AND LEEDS WITH ‘DO ME A FLAVOUR’ CHALLENGE

Students in Manchester and Leeds are being challenged to do the unthinkable: make a phone call — and actually get their mate to answer.

This February, Deliveroo Students is teaming up with Wingstop to launch the Do Me A Flavour activation, giving away free wings to bold students willing to test their friendships in public.

With nearly 60% of Gen Z admitting they’d rather text than call — especially from unknown numbers — Deliveroo is flipping the script and rewarding those brave enough to dial.

Where and When Is the Deliveroo Students Phone Booth?

The Do Me A Flavour phone booth will pop up at two major university campuses:

  • Manchester – Oxford Road, University of Manchester (M13 9PL)
    23rd February
    11:30am – 5:00pm

  • Leeds – Portland Way, Leeds Beckett University (LS1 3HE)
    24th February
     11:30am – 5:00pm

Wingstop is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so early arrival is key.

How to Get Free Wingstop

To be eligible, students must:

  1. Be signed up to Deliveroo Students (free to join)

  2. Step into the phone booth on campus

  3. Call a friend

  4. Get them to actually pick up

If their mate answers? Boom — free Wingstop.

It’s a simple concept with high stakes: no answer, no wings.

Students who sign up to Deliveroo Students on the day (or beforehand) also unlock:

  • Free Deliveroo Plus Silver (valid for up to three years from sign-up)

  • Free delivery on eligible restaurant orders over £15 and store orders over £25 (excluding fees)

  • 10% off Wingstop all year round when spending £20+ (excluding fees)

AJ Shabeel Joins the Campus Takeover

Adding to the hype, YouTube star and Beta Squad member AJ Shabeel will be on site to cheer students on and meet fans.

Speaking about the activation, AJ said:

“I honestly don’t know who I’m gonna call, no one answers the phone these days! That’s why it’s so sick to see Deliveroo and Wingstop bring back the phone call… with wings involved. Long live the wing (and ringtones)!”

Why Deliveroo Students Is Targeting Gen Z Calling Habits

According to Deliveroo, this activation taps into modern communication trends. With calls often ignored and messages left on read, the brand is creating a moment of real-world interaction — and adding a competitive twist.

Laura Brady, Head of Regional Marketing at Deliveroo, said:

“We’re a nation that doesn’t always like to answer the phone, so we thought we’d give students in Manchester and Leeds a good reason to. The ‘Do Me A Flavour’ phone booth brings a bit of fun to campus and brings to life what Deliveroo Students is about — giving students better value on the brands they love with free delivery and exclusive offers.”

By partnering with Wingstop — known for bold flavours and cult status among students — the campaign blends entertainment, food culture, and student discounts in one IRL experience.

How to Sign Up to Deliveroo Students

Students can sign up for free at Deliveroo Students and verify their student status to unlock the offers.
