Ahead of this summer’s highly-anticipated international football tournament, Deliveroo has teamed up with private football chef, Jonny Marsh, to offer fans a chance to eat like a professional player while watching the beautiful game.
Marsh – otherwise known as ‘The Footballer Feeder’ – has previously cooked for the likes of footie legends Kyle Walker and Jordan Pickford, and will be visiting the homes of two lucky punters to deliver an exclusive ‘Baller Bites’ sharing menu for footie-loving friends. The decadent three-course feast will be served up during the final two England group stage matches on 20th and 25th June, when the Lions will be battling it out against Denmark and Slovenia. With each dish inspired by the cheat meals of Jonny’s clients, lucky winners will feast like their footie idols without missing out on any of the action thanks to Jonny himself, who will deliver the dishes straight to the sofa.
JONNY MARSH X DELIVEROO ‘BALLER BITES’ MENU
- MEAT STARTER: Buffalo chicken wings
When kick-off commences, Marsh will whet appetites with WING-ERLANDDDDD – spicy chicken wings coated in Buffalo sauce – the perfect warm up and a winning snack for one of Jonny’s most famous German clients.
- VEGETARIAN STARTER: Mac and Cheese Dippers
Those looking for a veggie kick-off can start with DUNKS IN MOTION – pretzel-coated mac and cheese dippers – two icons of Germany, the pretzel and Emmental cheese, colliding with a best-loved classic British pasta dish.
- MAIN: Beef or Vegetable Vindaloo Pie and Mash
The match day main is VINDALOOOOOOOO – beef or vegetable Vindaloo pie with mashed potato. A winning combination of two of English football’s most loved foods, the hot curry and the humble pie. It is sure to also go down particularly well with a famous Manchester-based player on the England squad who’s a fan of pastry and spice
- DESSERT: Limoncello Eton Mess
If the footie foodies are anything like Jonny’s most famous Belgian client, they will want to see the match off with something sweet. Enter THREE LIONS ON DESSERT – Limoncello Eton mess – a coming together of England and Italy which is sure to be a match made in heaven.
Jonny Marsh comments: “Food and football are my two biggest passions, which is why I was delighted when Deliveroo asked me to create my exclusive Baller Bites menu. Having spent the past year helping my famous clients prepare for the upcoming summer of football, it’s hugely exciting to bring some of their favourite cheat meals to the UK’s biggest footie fans and give them a taste of what it’s like to eat like an England player. The best part? You don’t need to worry about missing out on any of the on-screen action, as I’ll be dishing up the three-course feast direct to your sofa, all thanks to Deliveroo.”
Arabella Jenkins at Deliveroo said, “With a huge number of England fans set to host their own viewing parties at home, we wanted to give our customers a chance to make this summer of football an experience like no other. And as England’s most iconic private football chef, who better to bring on board to create a world-class foodie experience than Jonny Marsh? The dishes Jonny has created have all had the players’ seal of approval, so we’re sure the fans will love them too – whether they’re lucky enough to win the full Jonny Marsh match day feast, or are recreating the dishes themselves using our Baller Bites recipe bundles.”
Getting involved couldn’t be simpler. Anyone who orders a match day bundle from Deliveroo’s selected restaurants* (see notes to editors) between Friday 14th June and before the first England match concludes this Sunday will automatically be entered to the competition for a chance to win a fully catered match day grub experience – for themselves and up to three mates – during the second and third England matches.
And those who miss out on the match day feast need not fear. There are hundreds of match-day deals from restaurants to be found in-app in the Offers section. Or, for those who fancy rolling up their sleeves and recreating Jonny’s recipes at home, find step-by-step instructions here and the ingredients in the Grocery page of the app, with delivery in as little as 20 minutes.
