CADILLAC HERTZ TEAM JOTA CONFIRMS ALEX LYNN OUT OF 2026 LE MANS AS LOUIS DELÉTRAZ STEPS IN

Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA has confirmed that British driver Cadillac star Alex Lynn will not compete in the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, following a revised medical timeline that requires surgery in June and a subsequent recovery period.

Lynn has already been absent from the opening two rounds of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship at Imola and Spa-Francorchamps while awaiting the procedure. However, due to scheduling complications, the operation has now been postponed, ruling him out of key upcoming commitments.

The decision means Lynn will also miss the official Silverstone test and the iconic endurance race at Le Mans, with his return timeline yet to be confirmed.

Louis Delétraz steps in for Le Mans and Silverstone test

Replacing Lynn will be Swiss racer Louis Delétraz, who joins the Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA line-up for both the Silverstone test and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Delétraz was already scheduled to take part in the team’s test programme and brings strong endurance pedigree, including winning the ELMS title and LMP2 Pro-Am class at Le Mans. He also competes regularly in IMSA with Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing, making him a familiar and trusted addition to the Cadillac endurance ecosystem.

The Silverstone session will take place at the historic Silverstone Circuit, a key preparation milestone ahead of Le Mans.

Alex Lynn: “Recovery has to be the priority”

Lynn expressed his disappointment at missing one of motorsport’s biggest events but emphasised the importance of his long-term recovery:

“It’s obviously hugely disappointing not to be racing at Le Mans and to miss the Silverstone test with the team, but getting this procedure completed and fully recovering has to be the priority.

The timing hasn’t worked out as originally planned due to scheduling difficulties around the surgery, but we now have a clear path forward. I’ll be supporting the team from home and I wish Louis, the #12 crew and everyone at Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA the very best for Le Mans.”

Team backing for Lynn’s recovery plan

Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA leadership has fully supported Lynn’s decision to prioritise his health, while confirming confidence in Delétraz stepping into the seat.

Sam Hignett, Director & Co-Founder of Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, said:

“Our priority is ensuring Alex can complete his surgery, make a full recovery and return to full fitness as soon as possible. Naturally, it’s disappointing that he won’t be with us for Le Mans, but we fully support him taking the time needed.”

He added that Delétraz is already well integrated into the programme and is expected to deliver a strong performance at Le Mans.

What this means for Cadillac’s Le Mans campaign

The 24 Hours of Le Mans remains the crown jewel of the endurance calendar, organised by the 24 Hours of Le Mans and run under the banner of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Cadillac’s Hypercar programme continues to develop under the combined Cadillac and Hertz-backed JOTA structure, with the team aiming to strengthen its competitive presence against leading factory entries.
