Pancake Day is getting a seriously golden upgrade. This February, two British icons are flipping tradition on its head as Black Sheep Coffee teams up with Lyle’s Golden Syrup for the very first time, launching a limited-edition drink designed to taste like Pancake Day in a cup.
Introducing the Pancake Syrup Latte — a seasonal collaboration that blends nostalgic comfort with modern coffee culture. The drink will be available nationwide in Black Sheep Coffee stores from 11 February until 4 March, served hot or iced for a short-but-sweet run.
Crafted using a double shot of Black Sheep’s 100% Robusta speciality coffee, the latte is mixed with Lyle’s iconic Golden Syrup, steamed milk, freshly squirty cream and finished with a signature golden syrup drizzle. The result? A rich, indulgent drink that channels the unmistakable flavours of a classic pancake stack — no frying pan required.
Golden Syrup has long been synonymous with Pancake Day, and the numbers back it up. According to Lyle’s, over half a million tins of Golden Syrup fly off UK shelves every year, cementing its place as a cupboard essential during the flipping season.
Speaking on the collaboration, Olivia Haley at Lyle’s Golden Syrup said:
“Golden Syrup and Pancake Day go hand in hand. We started with the traditional flavours everyone knows, then asked: what if Pancake Day lived in a latte? The result feels familiar, but totally fresh.”
Meanwhile, Georgia Roads, Head of Marketing at Black Sheep Coffee, emphasised that this release is more than just another seasonal drink.
“This isn’t your usual pancake stack. We’re known for bold, indulgent signature drinks, and this is a golden culture drop — not just a latte.”
To mark Pancake Day 2026, fans can grab the Pancake Syrup Latte for just £1 during ‘Golden Hour’ from 7:30–8:30am on 17 February, exclusively via the Black Sheep Coffee app and available at stores nationwide.
