The countdown to the highly anticipated The Soccer Tournament (TST), taking place from June 4th–9th, 2025, in Cary, North Carolina, is on. And it just got even more exciting with the unveiling of Mitre’s new Ultimax Pro Match Ball.
Now in its third year, TST brings together both Men’s and Women’s teams from across the globe, each competing for a $1 million dollar prize in a fast-paced 7×7 knockout format.
A true fusion of innovation and design, the Ultimax Pro is set for the global stage, carrying the hopes and dreams of teams from every corner of the world – from Wrexham AFC to Bournemouth AFC, Borussia Dortmund to the U.S. Women’s National Team. With former champions returning to defend their titles, the Ultimax Pro will be at the heart of every unforgettable moment throughout this high-stakes, weeklong tournament.
Inspired by the competition’s diverse players, clubs, and international spirit, the Ultimax Pro’s new design celebrates travel and global connection. Bold patterns and badges, reminiscent of passport stamps and luggage stickers, layer together as a visual tribute to the journeys that bring players to TST. The design also features a playful nod to the tournament’s knockout format with the bold “Winner Takes All” slogan, while bumper stickers represent the cultural vibrancy of the USA, where the tournament takes place.
In addition, the ball pays homage to the town of Cary, where soccer history will be made. Its unique ‘Delta’ (chevron) patterns are inspired by the town’s topography, with contour lines directly taken from mapping data. This thoughtful detail makes the Ultimax Pro not just a match ball, but a tribute to Cary’s WakeMed Soccer Park—the venue where soccer legends will be forged.
More than just a beautifully designed ball, the Ultimax Pro is the culmination of over 200 years of Mitre’s football craftsmanship and innovation. As the official match ball of TST 2025, the Ultimax Pro boasts FIFA Quality Pro accreditation, ensuring it meets the highest standards for performance, durability, and flight consistency.
The Ultimax Pro features a four-panel construction that reduces seams, offering an expanded sweet spot and a more precise striking surface. Mitre’s Hyperseal technology thermally bonds the ball’s seams, ensuring superior shape retention under intense conditions—allowing the ball to maintain its shape and integrity throughout the tournament.
The Ultimax Pro incorporates Mitre’s Hyperfoam technology, delivering optimal responsiveness by balancing cushioning and power with every touch. Hyperflow debossed grooves help to manipulate airflow, enhancing in-flight accuracy and stability – making this ball an ideal performer for TST’s fast-paced 7×7 format.
“The Soccer Tournament has seen massive growth in its three years, from club participation, through to fans attending and watching. It’s a fast and exciting competition not just for the players but for the fans who wait to see who bags the mega prize money of $1,000,000!, it’s an inclusive event, with elite talent travelling from all over the globe to be involved, and we’ve tried to capture the values of the competition in our new ball design.”
