BAD BUNNY MAKES HISTORY AT THE SUPER BOWL AFTER GROUNDBREAKING GRAMMY WIN

Fresh from a landmark night at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, global superstar Bad Bunny has delivered one of the most culturally significant performances in Super Bowl history.

His album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS became the first fully Spanish-language project to win Album of the Year — and the first body of work ever to secure Album of the Year honours at both the Grammys and the Latin Grammy Awards. Just days later, he stepped onto the world’s biggest sporting stage as the first Latin male artist to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show, marking an unprecedented week in music history.

A Cinematic Super Bowl Performance Rooted in Puerto Rican Heritage

The 13-minute Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show unfolded as a cinematic tribute to Puerto Rico and the wider Latin diaspora.

Opening in Spanish among sugar cane fields, the visual narrative paid homage to generations of Latino labour and heritage. As the camera transitioned to the stadium field, it had been transformed into a vibrant recreation of Puerto Rico’s countryside — complete with nods to everyday Latino life. Nail salons, taco stands, barbershops, and a piragua vendor reminiscent of Old San Juan grounded the spectacle in lived experience.

Performing hits including “Tití Me Preguntó” and “MONACO,” Bad Bunny delivered more than a medley — he presented a cultural statement.

La Casita: Community on the World’s Biggest Stage

A centrepiece of the show was “La Casita,” a structure inspired by a traditional Puerto Rican home and the island’s beloved party de marquesina gatherings. Previously featured during his residency and global tour, La Casita represents celebration, unity and cultural pride.

Bringing it to the Super Bowl marked the first time this intimate symbol of Latin community was placed on such a monumental platform. Guest appearances included:

  • KAROL G

  • Cardi B

  • Pedro Pascal

  • Ronald Acuña Jr.

  • Young Miko

The moment extended an invitation to millions watching worldwide: this was a celebration for everyone.

Salsa, Surprise Weddings and Powerful Symbolism

The performance evolved into a full-scale salsa celebration, featuring Los Sobrinos and a surprise appearance from Lady Gaga, who performed a special arrangement of “Die With A Smile.”

In one of the evening’s most emotional moments, a real wedding took place live on stage — with Bad Bunny serving as witness and signing the marriage certificate. It was a joyful reminder of music’s power to unite.

Later, Latin icon Ricky Martin appeared to perform “LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii,” seated atop a set inspired by the DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS album cover — an instantly recognisable image across Latino communities.

The performance closed with “DtMF,” as Bad Bunny scored a symbolic touchdown holding a football that read “TOGETHER, WE ARE AMERICA.” Behind him, a billboard declared: “THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE.”

A Cultural Milestone for Latin Representation

Executive produced by Roc Nation and developed with Rimas Entertainment, the show was brought to life alongside creative director Harriet Cuddeford, Yellow Studio, Leticia Leon, and choreographers Charm La’Donna and Karina Ortiz.

More than a halftime show, it was a narrative of heritage, pride and shared identity. For many viewers, it signalled a new era of global representation in mainstream entertainment.

What’s Next for the Six-Time GRAMMY Winner?

Following his historic week, Bad Bunny returns to his completely sold-out DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS World Tour, beginning with three back-to-back shows in Buenos Aires before heading to Brazil, Australia and Japan.

The album is available now on major streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music.

With every milestone, Bad Bunny continues to redefine what global superstardom looks like — proving that Spanish-language music is not just crossing borders, but reshaping the industry itself.
