GIGGS BRINGS OXFORD STREET TO A STANDSTILL WITH SURPRISE BLACK FRIDAY PERFORMANCE

Oxford Street was the place to be over Black Friday weekend, as UK rap icon Giggs shut down central London with a surprise live performance that left shoppers stunned. The Peckham legend — known for tracks like Incredible Sauce and Peligro — rolled up outside John Lewis on Sunday 30th November in a CRAFTD-branded taxi, instantly injecting energy into crowds battling the Black Friday chaos.

The moment the taxi pulled up, hundreds of fans swarmed, all hoping for their chance at a once-in-a-lifetime intimate gig with Giggs himself.

Black Friday Chaos Meets Rap Royalty

Black Friday consistently pulls huge footfall to the capital, and this year saw hundreds of thousands hit Oxford Street to hunt down early Christmas deals. But the biggest bargain of the weekend wasn’t inside any store — it was Giggs performing his signature tracks inside a decked-out taxi for a few lucky fans.

Clips of the moment spread fast across social media, with videos on Instagram drawing floods of likes and comments. One fan who managed to hop inside the cab said:

“Wow. Wow. Just chatted to Giggs casually… it feels like a dream.”

Social Media Reacts: “Oxford Circus Was Carnage”

The rapper’s impromptu show quite literally stopped traffic. TikTok user Stephkurke warned followers, “whatever you do, don’t go to Oxford Circus today.” Another added:

“I saw Giggs doing a performance outside John Lewis and MY GOD the whole place was at standstill.”

User Gaastlygab joked they “would have had a better chance fighting in the trenches during WW1,” while others highlighted the travel chaos caused by maintenance works on several lines.

Winsome Yuen commented on walking 40 minutes through overcrowded streets, and Keely added:

“I’ve been to London close to 50 times… but oh my god! That was the worst I’ve ever seen it.”

The Reason Behind the Surprise? CRAFTD’s New Melted Collection

Giggs later confirmed via social media that the pop-up performance celebrated the launch of the new CRAFTD Melted Collection, a luxury men’s jewellery line the rapper proudly supports. The collection features precious stones hand-set into molten bezels — designed to catch the light and reveal vivid colour as you move. It’s available now at CRAFTD.

Alex Cannon, Founder and Creative Director of CRAFTD, shared his excitement:

“As if Oxford Circus wasn’t chaotic enough… we thought we’d drop rap royalty Giggs into the heart of the action for a series of impromptu performances that brought the place to an actual standstill.”

He added:

“Giggs is a legend, and seeing him in the new collection was a proud moment.”

Giggs joins a long list of high-profile fans of the brand, including Zayn Malik, Lando Norris, Rio Ferdinand, and Steven Bartlett.
