Stars including national goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, mid-fielder, Fran Kirby, boxer, Nicola Adams OBE, former footballer, Adebayo Akinfenwa and Bullet for My Valentine’s front man, Matt Tuck went head-to-head last night in a secret underground gaming clash ahead of the global launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II today.
The Secret Tournament saw two star-studded teams, captained by rapper and TV chef, Big Zuu, and Host and YouTuber, Chunkz, battle it out as the iconic operators of Task Force 141 in front of an electrified crowd with Big Zuu’s team ultimately being crowned the champions.
Hosted by rapper and songwriter, Pro Green, and commentated by professional game caster, Chris Tunn, the clash took place in an octagonal cage in a hidden underground location in Islington, London.
The celebrities put their teamwork to the test as they competed in Modern Warfare II‘s Domination mode, expertly navigating the game’s new immersive Multiplayer combat in the epic head-to-head. Coming nail-bitingly close to taking the crown, team Chunkz were ultimately pipped to the post by team Zuu.
Commenting on his team’s win, England player Jordan Pickford said: “I’m used to playing as a team, but Modern Warfare II takes it to a whole new level – I might see if we can bring it into practice! The rivalry tonight was next level, but in the end the best team won. Hopefully I can take this luck with me into the World Cup.”
The Secret Tournament host, Pro Green, added: “In Modern Warfare II, the ultimate weapon is team and tonight these iconic teams proved that! We had Jordan Pickford giving us strong ambushes throughout and Matt Tuck delivering the finishing move – it has made me so excited to get home and play.“
Competing with Big Zuu were England footballer Jordan Pickford, Bullet for my Valentine lead singer and guitarist Matt Tuck, two-time Olympic gold medalist Nicola Adams OBE, along with Call of Duty streamer TheTacticalBrit and variety creator Tianna Mercedes. Joining Chunkz in the face-off were ex-footballer Adebayo Akinfenwa, England and Chelsea footballer Fran Kirby, COD streamers BennyCentral and MrDalekJD and variety creator Sunpi.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II arrives on all platforms today (Friday 28th October), bringing new gameplay innovations, all-new weapon handling and advanced AI with immersive multiplayer combat, third person mode and narrative-driven Special Ops.
