A LIDL SILENCE ON COURT! LIDL LAUNCHES CHAMPAGNE SILENCERS TO HELP TENNIS FANS DURING WIMBLEDON AVOID A MID-SERVE POP!

MUTE and Chandon! Lidl has announced that it is launching Champagne Silencers to centre court, giving Wimbledon watchers a brut-iful way to enjoy a bottle of bubbly courtside without letting off an umpire, player and crowd-infuriating POP right before a serve for match point

With 250 available via nationwide giveaway on LidlGB’s Instagram page on Thursday 26th June and at a pop-up around Wimbledon on finals week, the silencers are expected to go off withOUT a bang!

With Wimbledon notoriously plagued with inappropriately-timed pops, one umpire last year took to issuing a stern warning to crowds, with the clip amassing over 2.7 million views on Wimbledon’s X account.

Around 5.6m Brits already participate in tennis, and as fans prepare to rally behind their favourite players for Wimbledon with a bottle or two of Lidl’s own award-winning Comte de Senneval Champagne (£13.99) in tow, Lidl is helping attendees and fans across the country ace the etiquette by equipping them with its latest launch – Champagne Silencers.

Removing the option for pour decisions and inappropriately-timed pops, the silencers are a smashing hack to enjoy some bubbly without making a racket! The pre-existing and patented Descorjet technology is simply applied to the top of a champagne bottle, before the lever is then pulled to compress the sound as the cork pops off. Fizz, without fault!

The centre-court contraption will be up for grabs for free in two ways. Firstly, via LidlGB’s Instagram account in a huge nationwide giveaway from 10.00am, Thursday 26th June until 11:59pm, Thursday 3rd July, where social media users only need to comment who they’d like to share a bottle of fizz with to be in with a chance of winning. With 250 silencers up for grabs nationwide, it’s perfect for fans that are getting set to champion from far and wide.

Lidl’s very own umpire will also be popping up outside Wimbledon Quarter on the finals week, sat atop an unmistakable blue, red and yellow umpire’s chair, equipping those on their way to the tennis with a silencer along with 10% off Lidl’s Comte de Senneval Champagne, helping spectators who nip into any nationwide Lidl to grab a last-minute sip.
