where to go now: The Brussels Sprouts Restaurant

Love them or hate them, brussels sprouts have always been the Marmite of everyone’s Christmas and this festive season, tastecard, the UK’s leading diners’ club, is launching a pop-up restaurant that will hero the infamous vegetable. The Brussels Sprouts Restaurant on Micawber Street, London, will offer a three-course set menu featuring only the controversial (and most hated*) seasonal veg.

Whether you pile your plate with brussels sprouts or hide them in as many napkins as you can find, this Christmas dinner staple is here to stay. In a bid to offer a unique food experience (and, hopefully, sway guests’ minds), tastecard will be serving a festive menu alongside refreshing brussels sprouts-infused bellini’s.

The set menu features brussels arancini with spiced tomato and nigella sauce, lamb kofte with shredded brussels tabbouleh and pomegranate, brussel sprout risotto with lemon, chilli and hazelnuts as well as other brussels sprouts delights.

Not only will diners get to enjoy these Brussels delights but they will also be entertained by the infamous drag queen, HERR, who’ll be dressed fully as a Brussels Sprout, serenading guests as they tuck into their festive meals. So even if patrons’ tastebuds aren’t all a flutter eating the vegetable, they can kick back and be wowed by the incredible performance.

The pop-up launched on Tuesday 7th December night and was sold out for the whole three days, even drawing in celebs such as Made in Chelsea star, Alex Mytton, and Love Island potential new couple Arabella Chi and Joe Garratt (you didn’t hear it from us but they looked rather cosy the whole night). Not only that, but none other than Gemma Collin’s ex…or current partner 😉…James Argent has RSVP’d with a plus one. Any bet’s its Gemma?

Located at 15 Micawber Street, and hosted by the UK’s top discount dining club tastecard, The Brussels Sprouts restaurant is set to divide a nation.
