what to wear now: stock x

The holiday season is nearly upon us, and this year is set to be the biggest since pre-pandemic. StockX, the most trusted global platform for trading current culture products, has pulled together a gift guide featuring some of their curated selections across a number of verticals ahead of this Christmas. Whether you’re using this to find gifts for loved ones or to drop some subtle hints to your family, StockX has you covered.

Sought-After Sneakers:

  • Jordan 1 Retro AJKO Billie Eilish Ghost Green (W): Tapping into the ethos of today’s sustainable consumer, Billie Eilish’s first sneaker collab includes a lime green Jordan 1 crafted in vegan leather and recycled materials. Eilish’s star power matched with the already-beloved Jordan 1 silhouette will likely catapult this sneaker to the top of holiday wish lists. Released on September 30, the sneaker already has more than 2,300 sales on StockX.
  • Jordan 11 Retro Cool Grey (2021) (12/11/2021): Jordan Brand has a tradition of releasing in-demand Jordan 11s right around the holidays, and these drops have historically ranked among the biggest in all of StockX history. For the last three years running, the biggest Jordan release of the year on StockX has been a holiday release Jordan 11. Since “The Last Dance” documentary aired in the spring of 2020, prices for Jordan 11s have increased 100% on average. Cool Grey ranks as the No. 2 most hyped colorway, as measured by average price premium.
  • Crocs x Salehe Bembury (expected Dec. 2021): Crocs may not be sneakers, but they’re behaving like them on the secondary market. Trades on StockX surged 430% in the first half of 2021 compared to 2020. The brand has mastered the art of collaboration, and an upcoming release with revered designer Salehe Bembury may prove to be its best yet. Bembury has already cemented his magic touch, with recent New Balance collabs drawing triple-digit price premiums.

Coveted Apparel & Accessories:

  • Nike x Drake NOCTA Golf Crewneck Top & Nike x Drake NOCTA Golf Mock Neck Top: Fueled by an influx of new players taking up the sport during the pandemic, golf is experiencing a fresh wave of attention and energy. A number of brands are helping bring streetwear style to the golf course, including Nike & Drake’s NOCTA sub-label. For their third release of the year, the team delivered a golf-focused collection including crewnecks, polos, and visors in September  2021. The collection quickly sold out and top picks are in high demand on StockX.
  • Telfar Duffle Medium Black: A newcomer to the Telfar roster, the black duffle bag was Telfar.TV’s inaugural release and is positioned to dominate the secondary market. Just hours after its release, the bag was already trading on StockX at nearly 50% above retail. Following in the footsteps of the Shopping Bag, the Telfar Duffle is likely to be an ‘it’ bag this season and beyond.
  • Swatch x Bape Black Camo Watch
  • Citizen Silver Watch

Fitness/Outdoorwear:

Hype Collectibles & Toys:

  • Hot Wheels x Tesla Cybertruck 1:10 Scale RC Car (2021 Version w/ Cyberquad): Following the unprecedented bull run of Tesla’s stock during 2020 and 2021, Mattel’s Hot Wheels brand teamed up with Tesla for a limited edition Cybertruck RC Car. The 1:10 collectible went on sale in May, with pre-orders selling out almost instantly. This unique RC car has been a hit with Hot Wheels collectors and RC enthusiasts alike. As of October 2021, the Hot Wheel x Tesla Cybertruck RC Car is the top-traded Hot Wheels product on StockX.
  • Hot Wheels Gucci Cadillac Seville: Hot Wheels collaborations seem to be the new frontier for hype and designer brands alike with recent releases from Anti Social Social Club and Supreme. This month, Hot Wheels is set to release one of their most anticipated collaborations ever with famed fashion house Gucci. Limited to just 5,000 units, the 1:64 scale 1982 Cadillac Seville is set to release on October 18th, 2021, to celebrate Gucci’s 100th anniversary. The Hot Wheel will retail at $120 and features the iconic GG pattern, gold piping on the seats, and custom Gucci packaging. Expect this to be one of the hottest Hot Wheels releases in years.
  • Bearbrick – 20th Anniversary Release: Hype collectibles brand Bearbrick is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a sealed case of 24 blind boxes. The brand is known for its bear figures, and this release includes a surprise mix of some of the most popular collaborations including The Minions, Andy Warhol x Jean Michel Basquiat, Frankenstein, and two NBA athletes. In the last year, StockX has seen a triple-digit increase in dollars spent on Bearbrick products and we expect this release will draw in a number of next gen investor-collectors.
