The week before the Las Vegas Grand Prix, we have updates from all over Formula One, from special liveries to the FIA response to the HASS Austin Texas Appeal and Pirelli’s decision to design a new tire. Read it all below!
Starting with a follow-up to Haas Austin, Texas
Last week, Haas filed a formal complaint with the FIA regarding the results of the American Grand Prix. The FIA has officially rejected this complaint, saying “no significant and relevant new element that was unavailable to Haas” after the race.
Pirelli has started a new tire design for the 2025 season
Head of Motorsport Mario Izola has told Motorsport. “So, I understand drivers complaining about high tire degradation because they would like to push more, and this is a clear indication.”. The 2024 tire is already locked in; however, they will start looking into making these changes for the 2025 tire.
General Motors president Mark Royce has said that General Motors will only be entering Formula One with a partnership with Andretti
Remember a month ago, the FIA announced they had approved Andretti’s bid to enter Formula One? We’re just waiting on Formula One owners, Liberty Media, to decide whether we get that eleven-team. Since this announcement, many figures in Formula One have vocalised whether the sport needs an eleventh team. Notably, Aston Martin team owner Lawrence Stroll has said, “I think F1 at the moment, the business is on fire, the sport has never been in a better place, and I believe if it ain’t broke you don’t need to fix it, so I’m a strong believer that it’s working really well with ten teams right now and believe that’s the way it should stay,” to Sky Sports.
And last but not least, Ferrari has revealed their new livery for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The colours are nearly identical to the Ferrari 312B that Mario Andretti used in 1971. It features a white rear ring, splashes on the engine cover, and a white number board.
