VODAFONE EXPANDS SECURE NET HOME AND WHO’S HOME FEATURES TO 900,000 MORE UK BROADBAND CUSTOMERS

Vodafone UK has announced major broadband upgrades that will bring enhanced online safety and smart home monitoring features to more than 900,000 additional homes across the UK. The rollout includes wider access to its Secure Net Home digital protection service and the expansion of its innovative Who’s Home smart-router technology.

The move strengthens Vodafone’s position as one of the UK’s leading broadband providers focused on digital security, parental controls and connected home technology.

Vodafone Expands Secure Net Home to Standard Broadband Customers

Originally launched in 2024 for Vodafone Pro broadband users, Secure Net Home is now being extended to standard broadband customers using Vodafone’s Power Hub router.

The all-in-one security platform provides automatic, network-level protection against viruses and malware for up to 128 connected devices, including laptops, smartphones, gaming consoles, tablets and smart TVs.

According to Vodafone Broadband Services, the service runs quietly in the background, helping families browse, stream, shop and bank online more safely without the need for additional software installations.

New eligible customers can trial Secure Net Home free for three months before paying £2 per month, with the option to cancel at any time.

Advanced Parental Controls Designed for Families

One of the standout features of Secure Net Home is its comprehensive suite of parental controls, aimed at helping parents manage screen time and encourage healthier digital habits.

Customisable Content Filters

Parents can personalise browsing restrictions to ensure children only access age-appropriate websites and content.

Pause the Internet

Families can instantly pause internet access on selected devices during meals, family activities or downtime.

Bedtime Scheduling

Parents can automatically disable internet access at night to support better sleep routines and reduce late-night screen time.

Focus Time for Homework

The service also includes “Focus Time,” which limits access to distracting apps, games and social media during study hours while still allowing educational content.

Personalised Child Profiles

Households can create separate profiles for each child, assigning different rules, filters and device permissions depending on age and needs.

Vodafone Expands “Who’s Home” Smart Router Technology

Alongside Secure Net Home, Vodafone is also expanding access to its Who’s Home feature to all Pro 2 and standard broadband customers with Power Hub routers at no additional cost.

Initially introduced for Pro 3 customers in 2025, Who’s Home uses smart router technology to notify account holders when household members arrive home or leave by detecting when their smartphone connects or disconnects from the Wi-Fi network.

Vodafone says this makes it the only UK broadband provider currently offering proactive household connection alerts through broadband router technology.

The feature can be managed through the Vodafone Broadband App, where users can create profiles and invite household members to opt in via SMS. Users can opt out whenever they choose, with reminder texts sent every three months to maintain privacy transparency.

Vodafone Secure Net Mobile Adds AI Scam Call Protection

Vodafone is also continuing to expand its mobile security offerings through Secure Net Mobile, available to Vodafone mobile customers for £2 per month.

The mobile protection package includes:

  • Virus and malware protection
  • Advanced parental controls
  • 24/7 identity monitoring
  • AI-powered Scam Call Protection

The latest Scam Call Protection feature uses artificial intelligence to identify suspected scam and nuisance calls before users answer the phone, adding another layer of digital protection for customers.

The Growing Demand for Family-Focused Broadband Security

As UK households become increasingly connected through smart devices, gaming consoles and remote working technology, broadband security and parental control tools are becoming more important for families.

Vodafone’s latest expansion reflects growing consumer demand for safer online experiences and more intelligent home connectivity solutions, especially as concerns around online scams, harmful content and excessive screen time continue to rise.
