London, this is your shot.
For one day only, a stretch of Oxford Street is turning into a competitive racing arena as Velo hosts its headline “Come Race Me” challenge — a live, high-stakes simulator competition where the public goes head-to-head with professional driver Izzy Hammond.
No qualifiers. No experience required. Just one lap to prove you’ve got it.
WHAT IS “COME RACE ME”?
Taking place on Saturday 20 June at Future Stores, the competition invites visitors to set their fastest lap time on a bank of professional-grade racing simulators. The twist? You’re racing against Izzy Hammond — and her time is the benchmark.
If you beat it, you don’t just win bragging rights. You win access to Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone.
WHAT YOU CAN WIN
The winner will be the first to beat Izzy.
The winner receives a pair of tickets for:
- Access to Velo’s private suite at the Hilton Garden Inn at Silverstone to watch the British Grand Prix.
- A live view of the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1® Team from the starting grid
It’s not just a prize — it’s direct entry into the world of F1.
HOW IT WORKS
The format is simple, but the pressure is real:
- Step into the simulator
- Set your fastest lap time
- First to beat Izzy wins! That’s it.
There’s no safety net — just precision, control, and how well you handle the moment.
Even if you don’t take the top spot, there will be additional prizes available for standout performances throughout the day, so every lap counts.
WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE DAY
The event will be hosted live by Andre Dixon, bringing play-by-play energy, competitor reactions, and real-time updates as the leaderboard shifts.
Expect:
- A high-energy crowd
- Live commentary and hype
- Back-to-back races throughout the day
- Real tension as times get closer and closer
And when someone finally beats the benchmark — you’ll know about it.
HOW TO ENTER
There’s no pre-registration.
To take part, simply:
- Head to Future Stores on Saturday 20 June at 12pm
- Join the queue
- Get behind the wheel
Entry is first come, first served — so if you’re serious about competing, arriving early is strongly advised.
WHY YOU SHOULD GO
Moments like this don’t come around often. This is as close as most people will ever get to the intensity of Formula 1 — not as a spectator, but as a competitor. One lap, one chance, and the opportunity to go up against a real racing driver in front of a live crowd.
Whether you’re a seasoned sim racer or just backing your instincts, the challenge is open.
The only question is: can you beat the time?
